I used to waste hours scrolling through Keep notes until this hidden search feature appeared

Google Keep is one of my most-used apps, and since I use it daily, I appreciate the quality-of-life updates it keeps getting. Keep's integration with Gemini has made it one of the best note-taking apps, but other recent additions matter to me as well. Recently, Google Keep added a feature that makes using long lists more usable than ever. Keep's new Find in note search feature makes my life easier I no longer have to search for text manually Google added the Find in note feature, which I can use when I'm digging through text in a note. When you're a Keep power user, you're constantly making lists and other notes with a lot of text. When I went back to look up the information I needed, I had to scroll through a lot of text to find it. When I have to dig through long journals or meeting notes, scrolling through the text can get fatiguing. And when I'm not home, I sometimes need information quickly, and digging through text can take a lot of time. But with the Find in note feature, I have saved quite a bit of time. Earlier, Keep's search bar would only search for notes that contained a term. After I opened that note, I would still have to dig through a lot of text to find what I was looking for. I also have a bad habit of having one long-running list that contains all my tasks and information. And as with any long list, I was getting tired of scrolling endlessly to find one bit of information I needed. This feature is also particularly handy when I'm taking notes for business meetings and need to jump to a certain point. I search for the keyword, and boom, I'm in the section I need. This is handy when you need to pull up information during an ongoing meeting and quickly look up your notes. In my use case, I use it to find specific brand names when grocery shopping or an ingredient's exact measurement for a recipe. I've also made exhaustive notes on restaurants I would like to visit in Japan and the dishes they are famous for. The find-in-note feature made it a breeze to look up specific dishes, restaurant names, and their locations. I used to use a note-taking app called Bear on my iPad, which had this feature along with other neat tricks. It works great between my tablet and MacBook Pro, making it my default note-taking app until I switched to Keep. I was getting tired of paying Bear's subscription fee and switched to Keep, but I really missed the find-in-note feature. Ever since I switched to Keep, I have to copy and paste the entire note to a Google Docs document and then use the Find in Page feature. This adds time to my workflow and is quite painful, if you ask me. At one point, I wanted to switch back to Bear. But since Bear doesn't have an Android app, that was no longer possible. I no longer have any of these complaints, as Keep has essentially added every feature I loved in Bear and has saved me money in the process. How to use Google Keep's Find in note search feature It's fairly simple and familiar Using the Find in note feature works similarly to how you would use "Find in Page" for documents and web pages. In a note, you search for a keyword, and Keep lets you jump to every place the word is mentioned. Here's how to use the feature: Open any note in Google Keep. Tap on the three-dot menu found in the lower-right corner. Select Find in Note. It should be the second option below Reminder. Type a keyword and cycle through the matches. The feature works on lists and normal text notes. If you don't see the feature, you might need to update the Keep app. The feature started appearing in version 5.26.3xx and above. If you still don't see the feature after an update, force stop the app and clear the cache. The Find in note feature began as a limited rollout in early August 2026 and has already appeared in my app. But the update may not have rolled out to every region yet. It's surprising that Google Keep lacked a basic feature already present in its competitors, including open source alternatives. But now that Keep has finally added this feature, I no longer have to consider switching to a different note-taking app. Google Keep is adding valuable features Google Keep is now over a decade old, and the app is still getting new features. While it is shocking that it took Google so long to add such a basic feature to Keep, I still appreciate it. Now that Keep works with Gemini, it's even more important to get quality-of-life updates, such as Find in note, to make everyone's life easier. Now I just need Google Keep to add the ability to attach offline documents as well as docs from Google Docs and Drive.
