A Scottish Fire and Rescue Service spokesperson said: “Residents on and around Stoneywood Terrace in Aberdeen are being advised to keep windows and doors shut due to heavy smoke from a nearby fire at a derelict building. “The incident is ongoing, and we currently have six fire appliances at the scene, including specialist resources.” The paper mill has been disused since it went into administration in September 2022. In March this year, crews were sent to the scene to tackle another large blaze there. Three boys were later charged in connection with it. The site was also the scene of a fire in August 2024.
