How To Unlock Crake's Romance Scene In The Blood Of Dawnwalker

In her downtime, Kaitlyn enjoys unwinding with her favorite horror films, despite being a major scaredy-cat. Not long into your exploration of Vale Sangora in The Blood of Dawnwalker, Coen may stumble upon a woman being attacked in the woods by two of Brencis' men. You can either choose to deal with them through violence or money, but all that matters is that you get rid of them. Once they're gone, you'll have the opportunity to ask Sara about a man you've heard of named Crake. Sara will end up leading Coen into a trap, in which he'll wake up tied to a tree because he asked questions about Crake and the Manumits. This is the first time you'll meet Crake, whom you can attempt to plead your case to, but unless you've made a lot of progress by this point, it won't be enough to convince them to consider you. You'll be left with a promise to seek you out if you manage to prove your worth. Earn The Trust Of The Manumits While the initial interaction above can play out a few different ways depending on what quests you complete, the ultimate result will be the same. You'll need to prove yourself before you can join the Manumits and get to know Crake. To do this, you need to increase your infamy level on the Court tab to Notorious. This can be done by defeating members of the court, doing things that anger them, and, overall, just being a pest for the Vrakhiri. Once you've reached an acceptable level, Sara will meet with you in Svartrau City and lead you to the hideout, where you'll be made an official member. At this point, you'll start having quests associated with Crake and the Manumits, which will be your first step towards romancing Crake. The first quest assigned to you by the group will be a solo mission where you head out to see what happened to a group that hasn't returned. During this quest, you'll learn that an unknown monster attacked the missing group, and Crake will ask you to go with him to learn more about the creature. Be aware that you can romance more than one companion in the game. Romancing Crake does not lock you into an ending, nor does it prevent you from romancing Anca and Lacra. How To Romance Crake What Hunts The Night This first mission with Crake is What Hunts The Night. During it, you'll meet up with Crake and Sara and learn that the monster who took out a few of their members is a gargoyle-type creature someone created. Unfortunately, Sara will take a hit during this encounter that leaves her unable to move, so Crake will be forced to finish her off before the two of you flee so that she can't be used against them by the guards. Shortly after this scene, Coen will have his first chance to have a real conversation with Crake while they're hiding out inside an old building. During this scene, you'll want to select the options: "Do you want to talk about Sara?" ↓ "You sure? You seem upset" ↓ "I know what it's like to lose someone" ↓ (You'll have the option to talk about your family here.) ↓ "Maybe we could talk about them instead" ↓ "Alin loved apples" After the conversation concludes, Coen will offer to keep watch, and the scene will wake up in the morning asleep on Coen's shoulder. Nothing further will be said about it, and Crake will let you know that he might know someone who can help translate some of the information you found on the monster. What Moves The Dead Crake will take you to Svartrau City to meet with a Rabbi there, who, after a little convincing, agrees to help. He'll encourage you to look for the notes of someone named Silas, who used to own a cobbler shop somewhere in town. Coen and Crake will head to the streets, where Coen will find an old woman kind enough to direct them to the building they're looking for. Inside, Crake and Coen will find a secret passage leading to a crypt where Crake will be attacked and dragged off, and Coen will need to save him. After saving Crake and escaping the crypt, Coen will have the option to help Crake back to the hideout, which you should do if you're pursuing the romance route. If you do, Crake will reveal his real name to you — Marat. When you're back at the hideout, insist that Crake let you help him take off his armor and patch up his wounds. Which, if you've done Anca's romance route as well, will feel very familiar. Once his wounds are patched up, Crake will ask you to do another solo mission for him and spy on someone named Ascar. Don't bother pushing for info because he won't give it to you. Just agree to the mission and head out to find Ascar. Distant Shadows This mission, despite being strange, is almost entirely tied to romancing Crake and nothing else, so you'll want to make sure you don't forget about it. Follow the waypoint marked on your map to the village where Ascar is and look for the home with bee houses outside. After you've found the house, peek through the side window to start spying on Ascar. He'll eventually head outside so you can sneak into his home and rummage through his stuff. Offer his dog some food to keep it quiet, then head back outside when you're done and continue following Ascar. You'll need to hide behind things and keep a safe distance to avoid being seen, as Crake requested. Eventually, Ascar will head out into the woods and run into some trouble as a couple of guards try to threaten him over honey. You can choose to intervene and help Ascar or stay hidden. Neither option will impact your relationship with Crake, despite what he asked. Personally, if you're doing the romance route, helping him makes the most sense. It's pretty obvious that Ascar is Crake's father, even before it's officially revealed, and Crake clearly cares about him despite their issues. You'll also be able to ask Ascar about a man named Marat if you help him, but he'll brush you off, saying he wants nothing to do with Marat. Back at the hideout, Crake will ask what happened, and you can tell him what took place. Be honest. He'll become upset and leave shortly after this interaction, but Drogos will tell you where you can find him. Crake's Romance Scene After getting information from Drogos, you'll find Crake blowing off some steam in the woods. As Drogos warned, he won't give you the warmest welcome, but he will be willing to talk to you. For this interaction, select the following options: "May I join you then?" ↓ "I'm worried about you. What's wrong?" ↓ "Please, just tell me the truth about Ascar." ↓ "Hey, nothing you say can change the way I see you." ↓ (Crake will attempt to kiss Coen, and Coen will be caught off guard) ↓ [Kiss him back] After you kiss Crake back, the romance scene will begin. Compared to the other two, especially Lacra's, this scene is relatively short and tame. Coen and Crake will kiss again, and Coen will ask if they should hide, to which Crake says there's no need. The two will be shown lying down on the ground, and the camera will pan up and away from them. Once it's over, Crake will go into a bit more detail about the fact that Acras, his father, refuses to speak to him because of his sexuality. He attempted to hide it for a while and eventually confronted his dad about it not being something he could change, to which his dad reacted poorly. This led to Crake's involvement with the Manumit, but he still prefers to keep an eye on his father now and then to see how he's doing, which is why he had Coen follow him. Coen can also share some of his own story here, if he chooses to. After this heart-to-heart, Crake will choose now to reveal that his plan for defeating Brencis involves working with Catalin Dragosti. Coen will be upset by this news, unsurprisingly, but there's not much you can do about it at this point. Taking down Brencis with Crake at this point will involve working with Catalin and his men to restore his family to power. This will be the only romance scene with Crake, and this mostly concludes his romance. That said, depending on how you approach Brencis, you may see him again in the epilogue.
