These range from the more complex Abyss islands you'll find floating in the sky to the various Ancient Ruins puzzles scattered throughout the different regions. Some of the most important puzzles you'll want to solve are tied to the various spires. Solving these will give you access to the different Abyss island chains, which are a treasure trove for easy Abyss Artifacts. Perhaps the toughest to reach is the Spire of Frost, which is located in one of the most dangerous areas in Crimson Desert. Spire Of Frost Location The Spire of Frost can be found in southeast Pailune, just northwest of Deadfire Mountain. Unlike the majority of the Pailine, the cold weather around the spire is drastically worse, making it, so anyone takes damage if they don't have enough Ice Resistance gear equipped. Additionally, this location is guarded by the Skull Knight faction, who are some of the deadliest enemies in the entire game. Because of this, you'll want to have at least a minimum of Ice Resistance Level 10 to ensure you can avoid taking constant damage when exploring this area. However, there are still some spots that are even colder and will require Ice Resistance Level 15 to survive. Cooking up meals that also provide temporary Ice Resistance is also a great idea — especially if you don't have a lot of gear that provides this buff passively. As for the Skull Knights, I strongly urge you to hunt down the Infinite Arrows Abyss Gear to ensure you have an endless supply of explosive arrows. A lot of the Skull Knights fly and can do quite a lot of damage, making it very difficult to fight them with a melee weapon. Being able to hurl a ton of explosive arrows at them can significantly increase your odds of survival. If you're lower level or just not properly equipped, I suggest running by as many of the smaller Skull Knight patrols as possible. Just focus on trying to reach the Spire of Frost since there is an Abyss Gate right out front, and it only has a couple of flying mage guards. Spire Of Frost Puzzle Once you arrive at the Spire of Frost, you'll need to solve a small puzzle to actually open the Abyss Gate at the top. This involves using your Turning Slash ability (Right Trigger + Right Bumper) to break all the ice off the lanterns and then igniting them. Lantern #1 Location You can find the first lantern right out front (shown above), to the left of the main door. Perform a Turning Slash on the lantern and then approach it to be prompted to light the lantern. Doing so will open up the doors, allowing you inside. Lantern #2 Location When you enter the spire, make your way up the stairs to the right, and you'll find the next lantern along the way up. It should be right next to a window along the right wall, so perform a Turning Slash on it and then ignite the lantern. Lantern #3 Location Climb your current staircase until you see a frozen doorway along the right. This will lead you outside, where you'll need to contend with two flying Skull Knights. Use your arrows to shoot them out of the sky and continue climbing the stairs. About halfway up the stairs, you'll see another frozen lantern. The cold will drop below what Ice Resistance Level 10 will protect you from outside, so don't spend too much time hanging around outside. You'll not only freeze, but also continuously take damage until you head back into the spire. Quickly perform a Turning Slash and ignite the lantern before making your way back inside. You can also use your Axiom Force to pull two Abyss Cells from the wall and seal them away in your Kuku Pot! Lantern #4 Location The fourth lantern can be found immediately when you reenter the tower from the outside staircase. When you enter, look to your left, and you'll see the lantern there. It can blend in with the surroundings a bit, so use the photo above if you're struggling to find it. Lantern #5 Location Continue up the interior stairs until you reach another impassable wall with a door leading outside on your right. The lantern will be right at the end of the staircase by the door. Lantern #6 Location Similar to the third lantern, you can find the sixth lantern along the second set of exterior stairs as you climb up. Thankfully, there won't be any more Skull Knights, so just quickly run to the lantern, break it open, and ignite it before you freeze. This will warm you up enough to keep you safe from the elements. Lantern #7 Location The final lantern is located right as you enter from the top of the second set of exterior stairs. When you go through the door, you'll find the frozen lantern in the middle of the room. Igniting this will trigger a short cutscene, indicating that you've completed the Spire of Frost puzzle. Now, just keep ascending until you reach the Abyss Gate. Taking this will lead you to the island known as the Passage of Malice. You'll also earn the Frostcursed Boots for your trouble!
