Brewing potions is a great way to replenish your energy or get a little relationship boost with NPCs that you might be struggling with in Moonlight Peaks. Potions are also the only way to change your appearance beyond simple clothing customizations if you decide you don't like your character. Unfortunately, potion brewing is only unlocked through natural game progression, so while you can't do anything to influence potion brewing to unlock sooner, you shouldn't have to wait long, and it's impossible to miss since it happens right at your front door. How To Brew Potions Mend It With Magic Quest When you first begin playing Moonlight Peaks, you won't have access to potions. You will eventually be able to purchase a couple from Webb of Wonders, but you won't be able to brew them yourself until you receive the broken cauldron from your mom and begin the Mend It With Magic quest. Once you open your front door and find out that a package containing a cauldron has arrived, the quest will start. The cauldron, as Viktor points out, is fragile, and so it broke during the journey to Moonlight Peaks. To repair it so it can brew potions, you'll need to seek out the town's witches for help. Specifically, you need Fiona's help. When you speak to Fiona, she will recognize it as your mother's cauldron and offer to help you repair it. To do this, she needs 2 Mana Essence. To make Mana Essence, you'll need to craft the Mana Extractor, which should have been unlocked through helping out Sabrina by this point. The Mana Extractor uses the essence from magical crops to produce Mana Essence. Depending on the crop, some will require a larger quantity to produce a single Mana Essence, but it does matter what you use, as long as you produce two vials. With the Mana Essence in hand, take it back to Fiona, and she will repair the cauldron. This will complete the quest, and you'll now be able to place the cauldron and brew potions using the recipes below.
