Ironwing REN-X is easily one of the most unique bosses in Crimson Desert, thanks to its unusual boss arena and its special fight mechanics. Luckily, there’s an exceptionally easy method for defeating Ironwing REN-X if you’ve completed enough of the story before you challenge this boss. While you might be accustomed to fighting bosses on the ground, Ironwing REN-X can only be encountered flying through the skies of Delesyia. It won’t be easy to reach this boss if you don’t know the proper route, and it will be even harder to stay close to the boss once you reach it. Wait to pursue this boss until you’ve advanced the story through Chapter 11 and acquired Blackstar, the dragon mount, during Whispers In The Wind. Attempting to fight Ironwing REN-X without Blackstar can be extremely tedious if you fall off and need to get back to the boss’s back via the Marni teleporter. How To Get To Ironwing REN-X Ironwing REN-X is a massive bird-like machine created by Marni, and this powerful boss is patrolling the skies along the southeastern coast of Delesyia above the Aeronautical Research Base. There are two ways to reach Ironwing REN-X: Take the teleporter from the Museum of Marni to the Aeronautical Research Base, which will take you to a floating platform. Use Blackstar, your dragon mount, to fly upward toward the birds. You can also summon Blackstar if you fall off Ironwing REN-X’s back, but you must do so while you’re on the ground, which makes the ascent back to the boss slightly tedious, though much better than going back to the Museum of Marni to teleport again. Once you’re on the floating platform above the Aeronautical Research Base, look over the edge and down toward the coast to the south. You should spot Ironwing REN-X flying with a small convoy of pterodactyl-like machinations. You don’t need to prepare any specific gear or abilities for this boss, thanks to its gimmick mechanic. How To Defeat Ironwing REN-X Depending on your approach, there are two ways to open this fight: With Blackstar – Focus on using your flame breath and shots to take down the smaller machines flying alongside Ironwing REN-X Without Blackstar – Ignore the smaller birds while dodging their attacks. Once you make it onto the bird’s back, the auto-turrets along its wingspan will begin firing at you. Destroy all the turrets quickly before you worry about the boss, as they can easily knock you off the boss’s back and waste tons of your time. With the turrets destroyed, you can focus on destroying the six green orbs on Ironwing REN-X’s back; these are its weak spots. To destroy each green weak spot, Stab (RB+Y / R1+Triangle) into them using your blade, then Pierce (RT/R2) them to destroy the weak spot. Once you destroy all six weak points, a small hatch near the bird’s tail will open. Enter the hatch and navigate through the interior until you reach one final green weak spot. Stab and Pierce this final spot, which will destroy Ironwing REN-X. What Rewards Do You Get For Defeating Ironwing REN-X? Once the boss is defeated and the cutscene plays, you’ll be rewarded with the following items: REN-X Surveillance Record Tech Gloves 14 Attack 2 Defense All Purpose Arm – Opens any locked door. Ten-minute cooldown The REN-X Surveillance Record is used to reveal every point of interest on the map in Delesyia.
