Togen, who begins the game as your trusted companion, will be the second and final boss you'll face in Orbitals. When Maki and Omura attempt to undo what they've unknowingly started, Togen will attempt to stop them from diverting power away from the One Mind Machine. To accomplish your goal, you'll need to face him in a series of different challenges over the course of the boss fight as you did with the Drone Carrier boss. Like that fight, this one will also take place entirely on the ship, so you'll need to decide who will be the Pilot and the Gunner. For this guide, everything specific to the gunner will be red, and everything specific to the pilot will be purple. Phase One Once you're in your seats and ready to go, the Gunner will need to shoot rocks and other obstacles on your way to Togen. The pilot will also need to do their best to avoid anything the gunner can't shoot and destroy, which is primarily lasers and rotating beams. Once you reach the O.M.M., the Gunner needs to shoot through a door on the right side to clear a path. As you continue to fly through what appears to be a circular tunnel, the gunner will need to shoot the yellow part of each rotating piece in your way, and the pilot will need to navigate through the holes the gunner clears. Each time you're flying along the surface of the O.M.M. in open space, the gunner will be facing backwards and responsible for shooting the drones following the ship, while the pilot needs to navigate and use Thunder Missiles when prompted to clear a path. After Maki and Omura attempt to shoot at the yellow power supply, it will retract back into the O.M.M., and you'll loop back around to the same point where you entered that right tunnel, but this time you'll go left. The left path is less of a tunnel and more of an open space, so the gunner will need to shoot rocks again as the pilot navigates until you reach a point where you'll see large spinning mechanisms that the gunner will need to push as the ship approaches them to prevent the spinning portion from hitting the ship. Eventually, you'll reach another yellow power supply that will do the same thing as the first when you start shooting at it. This will loop you around for a third time, where you'll fly over the two path entrances you went through previously. The last part of this phase will involve flying around Power Connectors. As you do this, the pilot will need to fly up and down to prevent being hit by the energy waves from the connector. While the pilot worries about this, the Gunner needs to fire at the connector, and at the little yellow ball that appears periodically. Once the Power Connector's health is depleted, the phase will end. Phase Two Phase Two is when you'll actually begin to fight Togen himself. During this part of the fight, Togen will have a shield up in front of the ship that you need to push three of the electrified balls into. To activate the balls, the pilot will need to shoot the balls with a Thunder Missile. Once the balls are electrified, the pilot needs to fly close enough to them for the gunner to push them into Togen's shield. Repeat this process three times to break the shield. When the shield is down, the gunner needs to fire at the now exposed center of Togen's ship. After you've done a certain amount of damage, you'll go through a brief sequence inside the O.M.M., where diamond-like shapes will appear. The gunner needs to shoot the white diamond shapes to open or break them, creating a path for the pilot to fly through. The pilot needs to fly through the path opened by the gunner. After you exit the O.M.M., you'll enter a top-down sequence where you essentially repeat the same process as before. The pilot activates electric balls with the missiles that the gunner pushes into Togen's shield. The only difference here is that the pilot will also need to watch out for projectiles coming from every angle of the screen while the gunner destroys the drones and clears openings for the pilot. There will occasionally be safety shields that pop up as a ball that the gunner can shoot and open up, so when you see those, remain inside until they disappear. Anytime that Togen's shield is down, the gunner will need to fire at the center again to lower Togen's health. Repeat this sequence until his health has been depleted. Third Phase After you exit the top-down sequence and see a brief scene of Maki and Omura running through memories, you'll see a wide view of the ships where Maki and Omura need to line up their targets on Togen's ship. Once they're lined up, both players need to hold down the left and right buttons. This will then transition to a scene where both players must mash the B button repeatedly to fight off Togen's laser with their own. Once you've done that, you've defeated Togen and the fight is over. There will be a long sequence of cutscenes following this fight before the credits, so sit back and enjoy the end of the game.
