How To Cook Meals In Beast Of Reincarnation

More importantly, he's still waiting for a new Ape Escape game to release. Beast of Reincarnation is here, so sharpen your katanas, load your crossbow, and get ready to battle all manner of monsters. You play as Emma, a Blighted One who is ostracized and forced to hunt down twisted abominations known as Nushi. One of the few safe refuges you will find on your journey is the cleanse walker, which acts as Emma's home away from the horrors of post-apocalyptic Japan. One of the most important aspects of the cleanse walker is that you can prepare and cook meals to give yourself permanent stat buffs before venturing back out. While it can be easily overlooked, cooking meals and growing crops can be quite helpful throughout all stages of the game. Here is everything you need to know about this mechanic so you can always ensure Koo has a full belly. How To Unlock Cooking To unlock cooking, you will need to progress through the main story until you're introduced to Kagura. This will happen a few hours into the main story, where you'll need to complete a flashback sequence that shows how Emma and Kagura met, along with why she's on this journey. Once you finish this flashback segment, cooking will be introduced, which allows you to prepare meals both on the walker and out in the wild at a campfire. Keep in mind that for the latter, you will be severely limited to what you can make, as it's largely just used to satiate your hunger meter, not permanently increase any stats. Hunger Meter Explained Speaking of hunger, this is a meter you will need to manage while you're out exploring, as it will have a pretty big impact if you outright ignore it. Once Koo and Emma's hunger meter depletes, you will no longer be able to passively regenerate your health, which can make extended exploration sessions or even lengthy boss battles pretty difficult. Given how limited you are for stims — especially early on — ensuring that you can recover from minor wounds without wasting your meds is critical to success. The hunger meter will deplete as you fight enemies or explore the world, so it's easy to quickly need food if you are constantly fighting every group of wandering golems you encounter. You can see the hunger meter in the bottom left corner of your screen just above Emma's health. Thankfully, filling your hunter meter is quite easy, as you can press down on the D-Pad to open up your pack. From here, you can select from your provisions to feed yourself and sate your hunger. Above your inventory, you can see both Emma and Koo's hunger meters, so you know who to take care of on your journey. Keep in mind, you can slow the hunger meter by eating items such as candy, so always use this when planning a lengthy exploration. When it comes to cooking, Emma actually doesn't do any of the food preparation, as it's entirely handled by your NPC ally, Kagura. After you unlock cooking, Kagura will start preparing meals for you that will be consumed whenever you select the "Rest Until Morning" option at your bed. Upon waking up, whatever meal you selected for Kagura to make will be consumed in a brief cutscene, giving you the permanent stat buffs they offer. To select what food Kagura actually makes for you, "Rest Until Morning" via your bed, and you'll be presented with all the available meals that Kagura can make for you. You can see what stat buffs these offer by looking to the right and which ingredients are consumed in the bottom left corner. Remember, stat buffs are permanent, so you always want to be chowing down whenever possible. The stats you can increase through meals are: Attack Defense HP Critical Rate Skill Power As for getting access to new meals, this is done through finding recipes while playing and then having Kagura research them. Once you find a recipe while exploring the world, return to the walker and talk to your chef. Select "Cooking Research" and then look for which of the unlocked recipes you want her to learn. Similar to your hunger meter, anything that's being researched will be completed over time as you explore the game, complete activities or quests, and fight enemies. Alternatively, you can select the "Grow Research" option, which will let you harvest more whenever your ingredients are ready in the Grow Chamber. Remember, you cannot have both Grow and Cooking Research active at the same time, as Kagura can only research one item across both categories at a time. If you want Kagura to focus solely on harvesting specific ingredients for meals you like, then pick the "Food Production Setting" and select which meal you want her to prioritize ingredients for. This can be done alongside research, so always make sure to select one before venturing out to ensure you have enough to continue making the meal. Ingredients And Recipes To acquire and produce ingredients, you'll need to first find them while exploring the world. This can be either through purchasing them from specific merchants, completing side activities, opening strongboxes, or just through exploring the world itself. You'll often come across seedlings that can be brought back to your cleanse walker and placed in the Grow Chamber. You have a limited number of slots that can be expanded as you find more golem brains to further improve your cleanse walker's capabilities. Additionally, you can find eggs throughout the world that are placed in the Incubator alongside the Grow Chamber. Eggs will eventually hatch into chickens, which then can produce more eggs (or even rare golden eggs) to be used in meals or increase the amount of chickens you have. If you want more recipes, these can be found just exploring the world, buying them from merchants, or opening some strongboxes. These are largely rewards you'll find if you're willing to explore off the main path, making it worth your time to hunt them down. Once you have a recipe, bring it back to the cleanse walker and then select Cooking Research to pick the recipe you want Kagura to learn.
