The story mode for Halloween: The Game will take you through Michael Myers' gore-filled journey, but you can complete the secondary challenges to earn all the cosmetics. These challenges are spread throughout the game, and some are much easier than others. While you don't need to complete each challenge to progress in the story, doing so is great practice for understanding the mechanics and controls, allowing you to get the most out of the experience. The prologue — like all the chapters — has six challenges to complete, so here's how to tackle each one. Terrify An Orderly And Cause Him To Flee This challenge is hardly even a challenge, as you get it by simply following the instructions of the game. Simply execute an orderly in the view of another, and the one who saw you will become terrified and run away. Grab And Execute Three Orderlies With Bare Hands This one is also pretty easy, because you don't have any weapons at your disposal. Simply go up to an orderly and let the Stalk meter fill up to make them easier to grab. Grab them, then right-click to trigger the Execute quick-time minigame. Press the buttons in the order shown to execute the orderly. You can easily execute the first orderly at the bottom of the stairs, and then you can head straight to the building in front of him to get the second one. If you turn back around, more orderlies will have come to check the first one's body, and you can execute them to complete the challenge. Execute An Orderly With The Telephone Pole To complete this challenge, progress through the prologue until you get to the point where the game has you deactivate the electrical box. The telephone pole will be just to the right of the building with the box on it, and an orderly will be walking back and forth along the road behind it. Holding an orderly for too long will trigger a quick-time event where you have to click when the meter reaches a certain point; otherwise, they'll escape your grab. Wait until that orderly gets close to the pole, then grab him and carry him to it. When you get close, a prompt will pop up for Rusty Impale. Follow the prompt, and Michael will hang the orderly from the pole, completing the challenge. Throw An Orderly To His Death To earn this challenge, get to the same point in the prologue as the third challenge, but go left from the electrical box. You'll see an orderly standing under an overhang, either next to or in front of a metal railing overlooking the wooded area of the map. Grab this orderly and carry him close enough to the rail that the game gives you the Toss Over prompt. Follow that prompt to throw him over, and the challenge will show as successful. Complete The Chapter Without Alerting Any Orderlies This one will be trickier than some of the previous challenges, but patience will take you a long way. It can be a bit buggy, and the timing is a challenge, but after passing the first orderly, it's much easier. Head down the stairs and walk just around the right corner of the stone wall behind the first orderly. This will spawn two more orderlies to spawn down the road. Go back up the stairs, and wait by the grass in the parking lot for one of those two orderlies to run up the stairs and into the sanitarium. As soon as he passes, head back down the stairs and walk past the first orderly as he faces the bushes to the left. Timing is crucial, and sometimes the orderly detects you as you pass. Don't rush, or he'll notice you, and you'll fail the challenge. Take the first right into the woods, avoiding the guard coming from the brick building. Follow the path as the level intends, through the broken gate. Don't rush through this part because the orderly on the right will spot you. Let him pass, and then take the path he came through. Head up towards the power box and wait for the orderly on the right to walk away, back up the hill. Turn off the power to the box, pry the gate open, and the challenge will pop either right there or after you complete the rest of the prologue. Kill Or Drive Away Every Orderly Before You Escape This one's for all the true completionists out there. It may take a few tries because some of the NPCs can be a bit finicky, but this was the method we used to complete this challenge. You can use your bare hands or context executions for this challenge, whatever is easiest, although context executions are slightly faster. The orderlies will move around the map in predetermined paths, so understanding where they go and what triggers them can make life much easier. Following this order will get you through all the orderlies without missing any. The first orderly to kill is the one right down the stairs when you start. He's the easiest one and brings out two others from the sanitarium. The second orderly will go near the building in front of where you killed the first orderly. You can remain unseen when killing him, so as not to alert any of the others. Wait in the bushes between the first two orderlies for a third one to head over to the building where you killed the second one. Take him out using a context execution or your bare hands. Next, go back to the yard behind where you spawned. There will be a single orderly standing in the fenced-in area by the building, whom you can stalk and execute. Be careful not to let him get away, as the exit is right next to him. You can also grab Loomis Log #2 from under a lamp in this area. Head back down to the wooded area near where you killed the first orderly. Walk through the woods, past the orderly by the drain pipe, until you get to the road at the far right of the map. Two orderlies will be walking past each other along this road, so wait until they separate and follow one to the small brick building up the road to kill. Wait behind that building for the other orderly to check on the one you just killed, then take him out as well. Head up the hill towards the sanitarium, where you'll find another orderly standing alone, and take him out. Go back down the hill, make a left at the small brick building and take out the orderly holding a flashlight on the patient. Be careful not to alert the one down by the drain pipe. Head back down to the woods and make your way to the orderly by the drain pipe. He faces away from the path so you can sneak up on him easily. Go down towards the electrical box, and you can throw the next orderly over the edge of the railing. Head to the brick building past that railing, and you can take out the last orderly. With that, you'll have completed all six challenges in the prologue of Halloween: The Game. Each level will have six more in store, and as the levels get bigger, you'll miss getting through the challenges in that first level.
