How To Beat Bruno's First Fight In Hellraiser: Revival

More importantly, he's still waiting for a new Ape Escape game to release. There are a lot of terrifying abominations trying to kill you in Clive Barker's Hellraiser: Revival. From deranged cultists to twisted monstrosities, you'll be constantly fighting for your life throughout the campaign. However, one of the toughest enemies you'll encounter is Bruno, the mad artist you shot in the head earlier in the story. Unfortunately, Bruno took exception to you killing him and has returned to settle the score. This is going to be the first real difficulty spike in Hellraiser, as this boss isn't a pushover and can easily kill you in a few hits. If you're struggling to take down Bruno, here is how to beat this boss. Before picking up the mask and starting the boss fight, I recommend going back to the room with the table and breaking every bottle. During the boss fight, Bruno will use these to throw at you or even block your telekinetic shots. Getting rid of all the bottles will remove this action entirely, saving you some trouble. You'll also want to pick up and drop any weapons in the elevator hallway in the room with the table. This will ensure you can grab them during the battle with Bruno if your weapon breaks during the fight. Once you're ready, interact with the mask on the ground to trigger the boss battle with Bruno. This fight is all about hit-and-run tactics, as Bruno can do quite a bit of damage with his melee attacks and your space to move is very limited. Because of this, your main strategy for melee combat will be to hit Bruno a maximum of two times before quickly dodging away. He doesn't really stagger at all when being hit, meaning he can attack through your swings and still damage you. You can also use your pistol or shotgun to battle Bruno, however, it takes a lot of bullets to put him down, and there's a good chance to deplete most of your ammo if you go this route. What I recommend is using melee weapons on Bruno until later on in the fight, as you'll want the quick damage to speed the latter half of this battle up. Bruno's most dangerous attacks involve him turning into a sentient pile of goo (gross) on the ground and rushing towards you. If he connects, you'll be dragged into the blood and will need to mash the Right Trigger to escape. This attack deals a comical amount of damage and can instantly kill you if your health is low enough. When you see Bruno turn into a pile of goo, immediately get out of the way and use the table to kite the boss away from you. Bruno only dashes in a straight line while in this form, so don't worry about him making any sharp turns. He will usually repeat this attack two to three times before reemerging from the ground. You cannot damage him during this form, so just focus on avoiding him. Alternatively, Bruno will occasionally pop out of the goo pile form and attempt a melee attack. Similar to his other attack, simply using the table in the center of the room to kite the boss will almost always avoid this attack entirely. Keep focusing on your hit-and-run playstyle until Bruno is knocked to the ground. This will give you a good opening to absolutely batter him with your melee weapon for a few seconds. Upon getting up, Bruno will call reinforcements in the form of one of those undead cultists. It will break through the side room and join the fight, so immediately prioritize killing this new enemy when it shows up. If you have shotgun ammo or some extra telekentic items to hurl, this is the foe to use them on. The room is small enough; having to manage two enemies at once is a nightmare. As for Bruno, his attacks will not change, but he does appear to be more aggressive as the fight drags on. If you have a decent amount of ammo, after you kill the zombie, this is the best time to start shooting Bruno in the head. Eventually, more crawling zombies will join the fight, which can be equally annoying if they aren't dealt with quickly. Once Bruno takes enough damage, he will glow blue, meaning you need to rush over to him and press A (Xbox) / X (PlayStation) to banish him back to the Labyrinth. Doing so will conclude the fight, and you can loot his body for the scalpel item. Make sure to go around the room to grab any resources you might have missed before taking the elevator back upstairs.
