They tried to silence Wile E. Coyote and they failed! Well, kind of... the cartoon character still doesn’t really talk. But Coyote vs. Acme, the live-action/animated movie starring Will Forte, Lana Condor, John Cena, and all of your favorite Looney Tunes characters is finally out. Here’s what you need to know to watch Coyote vs. Acme now in theaters or streaming later, because you can!If you’re unfamiliar with the drama surrounding this movie, let me summarize as quickly as I can: in 2023, Warner Brothers tried to shelve the completed movie and take the tax write-off instead. They also infamously did this with the DC Studios movie Batgirl, starring Leslie Grace as the vigilante, and an animated Scooby Doo movie. The third time was not the charm for the studio. Folks in Hollywood got angry, and rightfully so, that the powers-that-be would be so cavalier about their jobs and their work! Fans protested as well, and Warner Brothers ended up allowing the filmmakers to shop the movie to other distributers. Three years later, and we finally get to see it! Not only that, but Coyote vs. Acme is now being marketed as the movie that Big Scary Corporate *cough cough* Acme doesn’t want you to see. So funny, and so perfect. How can I watch Coyote vs. Acme now?At long last, Coyote vs. Acme hit theaters on August 28. Go now! Just because you associate Looney Tunes with watching cartoons alone on Saturday morning doesn’t mean that you won’t enjoy the movie with a big, raucous crowd. If that’s something you’re able to do, of course.GET TICKETS NOWWhere will Coyote vs. Acme be streaming?Uh... well... typically a Warner Brothers movie would end up on HBO Max these days. But can that still happen? No take backs, right? Maybe not, weirdly. Ketchup Entertainment, the company who rescued the film from the proverbial bottom line, also distributed The Day The Earth Blew Up: A Looney Tunes Movie, and that is currently streaming on HBO Max. So their bad behavior might get rewarded. When will Coyote vs. Acme be streaming? The Day The Earth Blew Up got added to HBO Max three months after it was released in theaters. So, if Coyote vs. Acme follows that pattern, we should be able to stream it over and over around Thanksgiving, a.k.a. the end of November, 2026. Before that, probably just a few weeks after it leaves theaters, it’ll have a PVOD release. What to watch until that happens:If you’ve never seen Who Framed Roger Rabbit, this is your sign! It’s kind of the closest thing we have to Coyote vs. Acme right now. Well, that and Space Jam. Oh... and Mary Poppins! Technically Enchanted, too. All three of those movies have sequels, too. Wait, do Paddington, Paddington 2, and Paddington in Peru count? Maybe there are a lot of movies like Coyote vs. Acme, actually. At least that means there’s plenty to watch!
