Though he has a particular affinity for multiplayer titles like World of Warcraft, Destiny 2 and League of Legends, he has also put thousands of hours into single-player experiences, from deep RPGs to epic PC strategies. When he's not playing or writing, he can usually be found supporting his beloved Brentford FC. Halo: Campaign Evolved is finally here, resurrecting one of the most beloved games of all-time, for a new generation to experience. The original Xbox release really was a magical moment for gaming, and though this obviously doesn't hit quite the same heights, it does feel like a win that the franchise sorely needed. The game is now also out of early access, so most of you who are intending to play it (without waiting for a sale) are probably doing so already. If you do count yourself among that number, or are planning to in the relatively near future, there are some free downloads available that give you a few more options for your next playthrough. Halo: Campaign Evolved Has Landed Halo Studios As first reported by GameRant, there are plenty of free skins available for Master Chief, simply by entering a few codes online. Though these have actually proved to be quite a controversial inclusion among the purists, the fact that it's single-player, nobody has to use them, and these being free, certainly makes it more palatable. The list of free skins available for little or no effort is as follows: Silver Anniversary Skin: Found right away in the customization tab Sandstone Ancient Skin: L563-J46G-PZN1-SBF2-AXN6 Damascus Prototype Skin: GWT9-DNBT-7X9S-DJCX-8KH3 Hidden Blade Skin: Complete Discord task (explained below) All you need to do to claim the codes is head over to Halo Waypoint and type them in, with the only one that requires a little more effort being the Hidden Blade Skin. To get that one, all you need to do is head over to Discord to watch the trailer for Campaign Evolved, completing one of the platform's "quests" in the process. The Deluxe Edition also comes with additional appearances for the iconic character (as well as several of the game's weapons), so if you are really into your in-game aesthetics, that may well be the best version for you. Is Halo: Campaign Evolved Any Good? In short, yes, it is pretty good. Our own review states: "If you haven't played Halo before, Halo: Campaign Evolved is a pretty decent place to start. If you can look past a few bizarre choices, such as no online multiplayer, then you're still left with one of the all-time great single-player FPS campaigns." The only issue it will really have is longevity, but this feels like the win the series needed to at least partially right the proverbial ship. The big pressure comes with the release of the next mainline game, but if they can take some inspiration from the original Halo, then they have every chance of delivering something great.
