GTA 6 soundtrack up for pre-order and unlike the game will be on a disc

It features new singles by the likes of Travis Scott and Keith Richards (Rockstar) A 36-track album for GTA 6 is scheduled to launch alongside the game, but you’ll at least be able to own it on disc and vinyl. Rockstar and Take-Two Interactive already stand to make incalculable amounts of money via GTA 6, when it launches in November. Take-Two has said that pre-order figures are ‘astonishing’ and the game is estimated to make upwards of half of GTA 5’s lifetime sales in just one week. And that’s before knowing anything about GTA Online 2 and its even more lucrative microtransactions. In the meantime, the company has offered something else GTA 6 related, to convince fans to part with more of their money. An official music album featuring songs that will appear in GTA 6 is now available for purchase and it may surprise you to learn that unlike the game itself, it will be available physically. The soundtrack was teased recently by multiple musicians, who all shared pieces of GTA 6 related artwork on social media and are now explicitly confirmed to have their names attached to the soundtrack. Only six out of 34 songs have been listed, but they’re already available to listen to online via streaming services like Spotify, so there might still be some surprise inclusions. One new name we spotted is French DJ Étienne de Crécy, who was the only one to not hint at his presence beforehand and worked with four other musicians on a single music track. GTA 6 will have much more than 34 licensed tracks in total (more have already been heard in the trailers and GTA 5 has over 500) but these are just the all-new ones, made specifically for the game. The album launches alongside GTA 6 on November 19 and will be available via every major music streaming service. You can pre-save it on places like Spotify and Apple Music but for those of you who want to own your albums, physical pre-orders are available through Rockstar’s website, Blood Records, and HMV. CDs are priced at £10.99 while the vinyl costs £44.99. Rockstar is also offering a limited edition vinyl with ‘two transparent magenta discs filled with blue liquid’ and ‘exclusive new artwork and packaging designs’ for £108.99 though it’s sold out on Rockstar’s website at the time of writing. But in other instances, it just won’t make sense.’ We’re sure physical game enthusiasts will express frustration over the soundtrack coming with a disc option and not the game, but considering how high the pre-order numbers are, the lack of physical release clearly hasn’t deterred most people from putting money down for GTA 6. The game is expected to be such a huge deal that most publishers are steering clear of its release date, which is why the September and October release schedules are so crowded. In a recent interview with Bloomberg, Twitch boss Dan Clancy says this was the right call, adding that he expects to see a major bump in Twitch activity from GTA 6 and especially GTA Online 2, which he believes will launch in 2027. ‘We spent a lot of time talking with Rockstar about their plans and also helping them think about how they can engage our creators. You are going to see this big bump with GTA 6, but then an even bigger one next year when they launch multiplayer,’ says Clancy. Will you be pre-ordering the soundtrack?
