It's a bunch of animals on a field. What more could there possibly be to it? Well, it turns out the ad was filmed in Red Dead Redemption 2, and in less than 24 hours, someone has already triangulated the exact location. "Recognized it as RDR2 right away," Reddit user DangerousLeo posted. For someone with over 700 hours, it's hardly surprising they clocked it so quickly. The animal models are recognizably Red Dead, and you can just make out the burdock root. So, from there, it was simply a game of wandering in the general vicinity until they found the right spot — west of Annesburg along the Lannahechee river. "Recognized and knew it was around there somewhere," they explained in a follow-up comment. "Luckily stumbled across it pretty much immediately." It Only Took Them Five Minutes There are a couple of differences, which you can see in the side-by-side DangerousLeo shared above. The woods and river are exactly the same, but there's more foliage in the GTA 6 ad, with rocks positioned close to the camera that don't exist in Red Dead. I'm sure this will pour even more fuel on the 'same universe' fire after Jack Marston's biography popped up in GTA 5. Rockstar does love peppering its games with easter eggs and references to one another, but from a purely practical point of view, using an old game with plenty of wildlife and nature to film an ad makes more sense than making an entire area from scratch and wasting both time and resources. Especially with RDR2 still looking spectacular even eight years later. Most people aren't going to notice that it's from another game, let alone one that's nearly a decade old.
