Greggs just added a new ‘masterpiece’ to its legendary sausage roll line-up

Hot on the heels of two big Christmas menu releases, which saw the return of the beloved Festive Bake and Pigs in Blankets, Greggs is introducing another treat this winter. Following the success of the Chicken Roll, which launched earlier this year, the bakery chain is shaking up its legendary sausage roll line-up. Set to replace the Chicken Roll, which is no longer on the menu, this new addition joins the iconic Sausage Roll and the pork-free Vegan Roll on shelves nationwide starting today, Thursday, October 29. Introducing… the Salt & Chilli Chicken Roll. The new treat is available nationwide (Picture: Greggs) The new bake costs £1.35 and features pieces of chicken tossed in a salt and chilli seasoning. The whole thing is then wrapped in Greggs’ signature golden puff pastry. What do people think? Despite it only just hitting stores, some eager fans have already gotten their hands on the new bake, and a few have shared their thoughts about it online. On Reddit, u/alwaysthekop called it a ‘massive improvement’ and ‘a lot better’ than the OG chicken roll, while u/rudahan said the news was ‘promising,’ saying that the previous chicken roll had been too ‘bland.’ On TikTok, @angel_0xox also got an early try, writing ‘It’s gorgeous, may even be better than the normal.’ In other food news, KFC has unveiled its Christmas menu, featuring a festive twist on the popular Gravy Burger, and a major supermarket has launched a ‘drool-worthy‘new chocolate bar to rival Tony’s Chocolonely.
