Games Inbox: What’s the first thing you’ll do in GTA 6?

GTA 6 – where will you go first? (Rockstar Games) The Tuesday letters page is already planning out how to play GTA 6, as a reader looks forward to the next episode of South Park. Games Inbox is a collection of our readers’ letters, comments, and opinions. To join in with the discussions yourself email gamecentral@metro.co.uk Golden pathSo GTA 6 is getting really close now and while there’s still so much that is secret about it, I can’t help but start fantasising about playing it and what I’ll do. Because we don’t know much concrete it’s hard to say I’ll go there and do that, but my plan is to ignore the story as soon as possible and go off exploring. I particularly like the more wilderness areas in GTA 5 and open world games in general, so I’ll be heading to the everglades and that mud tournament place. I really liked the outdoors area in the leaked Cyberleek footage (whatever happened to them?) and will have great fun messing around there. The city I’ll probably leave till later, but I do get the feeling, from what we’ve been shown that my idea of skipping the story is kind of built into this one. I think it’s what a lot of people do in open world games and the impression I get from previews is that doing robberies is a lot more up to you than part of a story mission, perhaps to make the whole thing more freefrom. Anyway, interested to know what other people are planning? Will you go for the story path and then explore more or do it my way?Paulie Want GTA 6 news? Bending the rulesSurely I wasn’t the only one thinking how in the heck has Sony Bend survived this long, making nothing and their last game being Days Gone? And yet Sony has shut down so many other developers, including Bluepoint! Seems to me that Bend is pretty much their least talented team and yet they get to live, while Japan Studio and London Studio is shut down, and a bunch of others I’ve probably just forgotten. I’m not trying to get the people there sacked but just what is the logic? Personally, I think their next game probably will turn out to be a Syphon Filter reboot, which I’m sure literally dozens of people will be excited about.Archie No regertsI’ve had a Nintendo Switch 2 since launch and while I almost regret getting it so early, because its first year wasn’t great, I don’t because there’s been a price rise since that and the situation with games at the moment is much better. Like everyone I’m puzzled by the lack of Mario and other prominent games, even the ones I’m not particularly interested in, like Animal Crossing, but if you assume they’re coming eventually I feel we have stepped things up in the few months and I’m really looking forward to the new Metroid starting the new year off in the right way.Jono Email your comments to: gamecentral@metro.co.uk War budgetWhatever the excuses are about Gears Of War: E-Day costing $500 million I really don’t care. Gears Of War and $500 million have no business being in the same sentence together. The game should have been on the low end of big budget games, based on the franchise not being that popular anymore and the gameplay barely having changed in over 20 years. They can just use the graphics from Gears 5 and it’d be fine. That game looked great, that wasn’t the problem. The problem was the tired gameplay. As usual Microsoft thinks it can buy its way to success but spending so much on such a tired franchise is crazy. The worst thing is that they’ll happily pour all that money down the drain and then lay off a thousand people like it was nothing. Here’s a suggestion: keep the people and save the money by not giving your games such insane budgets.Xane The real ocarina cannot control time (Nintendo) Legendary ocarinaNow that the release of the Zelda: Ocarina Of Time remake is almost upon us, have you heard anything about the release of the ocarina which is supposed to go with it? I don’t mean the electronic version, I mean the real, working ocarina. It’s such an endearingly goofy idea from Nintendo that I’m tempted to buy it, but it looks like it won’t be possible any time soon. So I’ll probably just stick with humming the tunes when the game comes out. Looking forward to it either way.Mickah GC: They haven’t said anything new about it, but the electronic one sold out very quickly. You could try the Argos mentioned in this story, if you’re nearby, but to be honest we doubt it’ll be there. Successful demoI hadn’t expected to end up with one of the Reader’s Features this past weekend, I might have spent a bit more time on it had I known! On a different note, I’ve been playing Final Fantasy Resonance this past week and thoroughly enjoyed it. It was a game I was aware of but had not really any interest in until I had a few hours free one weekend and decided to give the demo a try. I wish more games would do demos, as this sold me on the game and resulted in a purchase. I have now finished the game, including the optional final bosses, with a play time of around 50 hours. I decided to pick it up on the Switch 2 and it was a great game to play on the sofa with the turn-based combat working nicely with other distractions going on around me. I’m currently looking forward to seeing some reviews of the new Zelda remake. I never played the original and I am really worried the game is going to play like something from 1998. I’m sure it was breathtaking at the time, but will it still feel that way for a newcomer to the game who isn’t approaching it with huge amounts of nostalgia? I hope so, but I’ll wait for some reviews before deciding whether to pick it up.Adam W. GC: We thought that’s what your email was intended as, it was nearly 600 words long. Old school commentI think the removal of the comments section is a good thing, I always find it odd to see people commenting all day, every day instead of just writing in, feels like the days of Teletext again. Although I will say it (mostly) remained quite cordial down there, which is definitely not the way it was on the wider Metro site. I certainly won’t miss certain contributor’s opinions across the platform. Currently excited for Zelda and currently playing Call Of Duty: Modern Warfare 4 campaign. For some of us it was a daily routine to read the letters and then instantly comment and have a back and forth with real people. It had its problems but there’s a good group of people down there. I hope a solution is found soon. I’m guessing it’s due to the recent wave of cyberattacks, thanks to AI and the massive amounts of exploits found in numerous sites. It’s been a pleasure and I hope the Inderboxers still write in from time to time. Maybe you could create a Reddit thread or something. You could post your stories and Inboxes for us to read and comment. In gaming related stuff. I hope you’re enjoying GTA 6 or not wink wink. I’m 90% sure next week’s South Park episode will be created entirely in GTA 6, just like the World Of Warcraft episode. It would be a new way of marketing a game and South Park has been mentioning it all season. They have two episodes left in this run, so it would make sense for the final two episodes to be GTA related. I hope I’m right as the World Of Warcraft episode was a personal favourite of mine. And it seems Rockstar has given them something to work with based on that last episode.Alvin Rainflowers GC: We might try something like that on Substack but it depends what the moderation options are like. Inbox also-ransI see that Nintendo have just added Pinball: Revenge of the ‘Gator to the Game Boy classics on Nintendo Switch Online. I haven’t played it in years and was a massive dose of nostalgia! Still just as fun to play and that music takes me back to the original Game Boy.Simon GC: Wow, that’s a pretty obscure one.
