‘Game Of Thrones: Aegon’s Conquest’ Movie Gets 2029 Release Date

The soon-to-be-taken-over by Paramount, Warner Bros, has a big tentpole they just dated: Game of Thrones: Aegon’s Conquest for June 1, 2029. Owen Harris directs off Oscar nominated scribe Beau Willimon’s screenplay. No cast or production start info yet. The movie reportedly centers on, you guessed it, Aegon I, the first Lord of the Seven Kingdoms who spawned the Targaryen dynasty — the royal family at the heart of the entire franchise. Aegon I the Conquerer founded and is the first king of the dynasty and united Westeros with his dragons Balerion, Vhagar, and Meraxes. This would mark the first time Aegon I has been depicted on screen. The feature is an expansion of George R.R. Martin’s A Song of Ice and Fire. Watch on Deadline Aside from the core HBO franchise, there are two spinoff series based on the George R.R. Martin fantasy novels: House of the Dragon and A Knight of the Seven Kingdoms. There isn’t a lot dated for 2029 by the majors and Game of Thrones arrives at the first weekend of June, first. Outside of myriad untitled placeholders that year, the only movies which are hard dated with titles are Disney/Pixar’s Coco 2 on Nov. 21 and Disney/20th Studios’ Avatar 4 on Dec. 21, 2029. Paramount will inherit at least 40 Warner Bros theatrical releases on the calendar dated between October 2 this year and into 2029.
