Former Leeds and Wales footballer Terry Yorath died aged 75 in January, following a short illness. After receiving a call during filming, the presenter, 53, was replaced mid-show by Mark Chapman, who explained to viewers she had a 'family emergency'. In a new interview, Gabby said she is 'still processing' her father's death and spoke of how hard she has found life in the months after his passing. She told The Times: 'I keep my phone on during broadcasting, as we're fed stats during games via a WhatsApp group. It rang the evening my dad passed away while I was presenting Match of the Day. 'It's hard to explain how I carried on after that, and a few months down the line I'm still processing it. I've always wanted to make the most of my opportunities, and my brother Daniel's death in 1992 - aged 15, from an undiagnosed heart condition - had a profound impact on this.' Gabby Logan has recalled how she heard her father had died while presenting Match of the Day live Former Leeds and Wales footballer Terry Yorath died aged 75 in January, following a short illness (pictured together in 1998) Born in Cardiff, Terry played a big part in the Leeds team under Don Revie, winning the First Division title, before spells with Coventry, Tottenham and Bradford.He scored 11 goals in 199 appearances for Leeds over nine years from 1967, and received runners-up medals in the FA Cup, European Cup and Cup Winners Cup.The midfielder also won 59 caps for Wales and was assistant coach at Bradford on the day of the Valley Parade fire in 1985, when 56 fans died and 270 were injured.Terry also managed Swansea, Bradford, Cardiff, Lebanon, Sheffield Wednesday and Margate – as well as Wales, coming close to qualification for the 1994 World Cup. After his death, Gabby told her followers: 'Thank you for your messages of love and support today, it has meant the world to us. Our Dad a warrior on the football pitch, captaining club and country, a kind hearted and generous man off it, would have hated all the attention. (Well most of it).'The stories that have been shared by strangers with us today have been enormously comforting. He touched so many people’s lives.'We knew he had limited time, but it is still a shock.'Gabby and her husband Kenny, 54, a former Scotland rugby player, live in Buckinghamshire and have two children, twins Reuben and Lois, 20. I actually miss the colour-coded blackboard we used to have detailing everyone's schedules for the whole week."'
