In August 2026, OAG data shows that the ultra-low-cost carrier plans an average of 693 daily movements. This is up by a substantial 14% year-over-year, which reflects, in part, growth because of the absence of Spirit. Between September and next March, the airline has scheduled 337 routes. 298 are domestic, including a handful of airport pairs that have very few flights, and 39 are international. Many links have ended recently, including from Atlanta. However, Frontier will launch nine new routes soon. Frontier Will Begin These Nine Routes Soon Credit: Shutterstock They are summarized in the following table and shown on the subsequent interactive map. Seven of the upcoming markets are domestic and two are international. This article simply summarizes them and then discusses specific additions in more detail. Three of the routes will only operate for the Christmas vacation period, with very limited flights. Notice that most of them were previously flown by Spirit, mainly in 2025 and earlier in 2026. Entering so-called ready-made markets is a common way for an airline to grow its network. This is partly why it is utterly critical that all carriers thoroughly and regularly examine schedule changes by other operators. New, suitable opportunities may materialize. BOI rejoined Frontier's network in 2025, when flights from Denver returned, having last operated in 2021. That route will end on September 8, with LAS flights starting two days later. Three airlines will now fly between LAS and BOI, down from four operators last year, when Spirit and Allegiant Air also did so. Spirit pulled out in October 2025, followed by Allegiant in January 2026. In the 12 months to May 2026, the US Department of Transportation shows that 245,117 round-trip passengers flew between BOI and LAS. This only includes local passengers, who did not connect elsewhere at either end of the market. Sin City was the third most popular destination from BOI, after Seattle (384,600 passengers) and Phoenix (266,432). Excluding seasonality, 672 passengers flew between LAS and BOI daily. Despite the various nonstop services on different airlines, 18,116 passengers (50 daily) connected to another flight en route. Most did so in Salt Lake City International Airport (SLC) with Delta, presumably for loyalty points and more choice. Second Airline From DFW To SJO In 28 Years Credit: Shutterstock Between 1999 and 2025, the DOT shows that only American operated from DFW to Costa Rica's busiest airport. DFW is, of course, the oneworld member's number one hub. In 1997 and 1998, American competed directly with TACA/LACSA. Now it'll be American and Frontier, albeit only for three days: December 19 and 26, along with January 2. On those Saturdays, American will have two daily departures on the Boeing 737-800. The entry of Frontier, as brief as its operations will be, will mean that a record three daily departures will be available. It'll use the Airbus A320neo.
