Fortnite Treasure Hours Go Live, But No Mention Of Pirate Shop Token Boost Epic Games Published Nov 7, 2026, 2:00 PM EST James Lucas is the Lead Photo Editor at TheGamer and has worked in professional journalism since 2018. You can reach them at James.t@thegamer.com Fortnite has begun the first Treasure Hours of the season, running from now until 4pm ET (7–9pm GMT). During this window, everyone will drop with a Shock Rocket and Self-Revive, making for an even more chaotic Pirate Shop token hunt. With that being said, it's unclear right now if the odds of finding a token will increase during Treasure Hours. Pirate Shop tokens make everything in the Item Shop free for two weeks. Epic Games has only confirmed that you can expect the following: A$AP Rocket Launcher. Boosted Fortune Sprites. Self-Revive on the ship. If you miss out on the first two-hour window, Treasure Hours will return later tonight from 9-11pm ET (2–4am GMT). How Do Pirate Shop Token Odds Work? An Epic Games representative declined to explain the odds of finding a Pirate Shop token to TheGamer, reiterating that everyone has an equal opportunity. However, popular dataminer @Llamalaxy made an interesting discovery last night. Allegedly, out of the 16 possible prizes, Pirate Shop Access is the only one set to 'PreRollOnly', which means that tokens are the only prize "determined exclusively before the chest opens." Dataminers have also uncovered something called 'Clover', which handles prizes on Fortnite's servers, rather than locally. This might explain why the community has been unable to uncover the drop rates for Pirate Shop tokens. All of which has raised questions about whether grinding for Pirate Shop tokens is even worthwhile. With the actual distribution handled server-side, players have no way of knowing whether opening more chests improves their chances. In so many words, nobody knows what the odds are, how they're decided, or if there's a limited amount of tokens. The only detail Epic has provided is that everyone has an equal opportunity to find them. So, for the next two hours, you can continue grinding for Pirate Shop tokens, but it's unclear right now if the Treasure Hours will make a difference, or how it's determined who gets them.
