‘Forget Turf Moor, feels like turf war!’ Becky Vardy set for reunion with ‘arch enemy’ Annie Kilner – pals spill all

THE reopening of old wounds between Jamie Vardy’s wife Becky and her “arch enemy” Annie Kilner, Kyle Walker’s model spouse, threaten to raise hell at Burnley Football Club this season. Fresh from filming her ITV reality show, Becky Vardy, 44, faces yet more unscripted drama as she’s likely to come face to face with her once firm friend Annie Kilner, 34 – and pals have now spilled all on the “nightmare situation”. Now their husbands will play together after Jamie, 39, made a sensational return to English football – forcing the WAGs to spend match day at Turf Moor where their families spend time at the club’s Jimmy Mac Hospitality Lounge and the 1882 Lounge. A mutual friend told The Sun: “Forget Turf Moor, this feels like turf war all over again. It’s a bit of a nightmare situation. “There’s bad blood between Becky and Annie because of what’s happened in the past and they know all eyes will be on them on match days as and when they attend. “Becky said some pretty unsavoury things about Annie, she branded her a doormat. That’s pretty hard to roll back from. “But Becky will be walking in with her head held high. “She’s tough and will stand her ground. There’s no way she’d be bothered about seeing Annie again but she knows people will talk about it and that the whispers will start like they always do. They added: “For Annie, the idea of seeing Becky makes her think of the bad times and that is what she wants to leave in the past. It’s far from ideal but that is football for you. “Obviously their husbands both playing for the same clubs isn’t something either of them would have wanted but they can’t change it now.” Their feud was first sparked when Annie told The Sun that she “didn’t blame” Coleen for “exposing” Becky for allegedly selling stories about her – leading to other WAGs dubbing them as “arch enemies”. Becky was also angry that Annie said she believed Becky and her then-Leicester City star husband Jamie wanted to become the new Posh and Becks. Annie said at the time: “If Becky was responsible for leaking stories then it’s just wrong. Only she knows the truth. The friendship they had is over. “Even if it is resolved in the High Court this will rumble on forever.” A source close to Becky said: “There’s no awkwardness from Becky’s side at all, life moves on and she’s cracking on with hers.” Annie’s alleged disloyalty led Becky, 44, to seek revenge by befriending Lauryn Goodman – who had two children with Kyle. Their feud came to a head in 2023 again when Annie mistakenly believed Becky had made fun of her turmoil when Kyle, 36, was caught flashing at a woman in a bar. Becky then jumped at the opportunity to furiously brand Annie a “doormat” who had a “sad and miserable life”. She also told Annie, 30, she had no self-respect and that she felt sorry for her, ranting: “Great at playing the victim is our Annie. Just leave me alone.” This week a source close to Annie insisted: “She has no intention in becoming friends nor being involved in any drama that may come about. “She will simply continue to support Kyle as he comes to the end of his career and their son who currently plays at the club. “Annie has her friendship group, which has remained the same for ages and doesn’t foresee any changes in the near future.” Becky is ‘cracking on with life’ as it’s revealed her husband is joining Burnley FC Credit: Instagram Annie sided with Coleen Rooney during the Wagatha Christie trial Credit: AFP Jamie and Kyle playing for England in 2016 – the pair have known each other for years and reunite at Burnley Credit: Getty Images Becky and Jamie had appeared in a docuseries The Vardys Credit: REUTERS Becky faced humiliation from the fallout of her High Court battle, which finally ended last May, when she was ordered to pay Coleen’s legal fees of around £1.2million. She had taken legal action after Coleen claimed stories about her were leaked from her Instagram account. Becky was heavily pregnant when Coleen publicly revealed in 2019 she had turned detective to find the culprit, famously claiming: It’s……Rebekah Vardy’s account.” Becky made clear in her fly-on-the-wall docuseries this year that she maintained her innocence, insisting: “I’m never going to apologise for something I didn’t do. Hell will freeze over before I do that.” She added of her one-time friend: “I’ve got no idea what she thinks of me, but I’m not bothered.” It doesn’t bode well for Annie who may have been hoping for Becky’ s stubbornness to have softened. Our insider added: “Becky made clear in her documentary that the trial is in the past and she wants to move on but she’s also steadfast in what she thinks. “Annie will be hoping that they’re able to put their beef in the past, but it’s going to be hard to navigate that. “There’s already talk amongst the other WAGs about who will end up siding with who. “The WAG world is supportive but it’s also incredibly insular and competitive. And with the history between Becky and Annie, it’s got everyone talking.” Jamie is best known for his legendary spell at Leicester, where he scored 200 goals in 500 appearances and spearheaded their 2015-16 Premier League title triumph before later winning the FA Cup. He’ll play alongside former Manchester City veteran Kyle who joined Burnley on a two-year contract in a £5million deal last summer. While Burnley drew 1-1 against Wrexham in the Championship last night, the squad did not feature its new signing, as Jamie was suspended due to yellow cards he had built up during his season at Cremonese in Italy.
