Studies show that nose size can actually dictate penis size (Picture: Getty Images) There’s an age-old notion that the size of a person’s hands indicates the size of their penis. Sorry for the reminder, but that one’s been debunked countless times. However, if you’re sizing up your date across a candlelit dinner, there’s another body part you should be looking at: their nose. In a Facebook reel, Dr Anthony Youn revealed a bombshell: the size of a person’s nose and the size of their penis can actually be related. ‘Men with larger noses have an average weiner length of 5.3 inches, whereas men with shorter noses have an average length of 4.1 inches,’ he explains. ‘So that therefore means that the Hulk has a really small wee-wee, and Butt-Head has a huge one.’ In the comments section, one person joked ‘so Squidward got a horse huh,’ while another said ‘and here I was looking at the size of y’alls hands.’ ‘So considering that the nose never stops growing, does that mean old men…,’ someone else pondered, and another penned ‘big nose, big hose.’ Big nose, big hose, hey? (Picture: Getty Images) Does big nose really equal a big hose? Dr Clair Grainger, from Superdrug Online Doctor, confirms there’s scientific evidence to support the idea that nose size may be linked to penis length. She tells Metro: ‘A 2021 Japanese study involving 126 adult men found a correlation between nose size and stretched penile length. ‘Further research published in 2023, involving 1,160 men in South Korea, also identified nose size as a statistically significant predictor of stretched penile length.’ Dr Clair reckons this might be because both nose and penis development are influenced by hormones before birth, particularly testosterone. One GP theorises testosterone has something to do with it (Picture: Getty Images) ‘However, this [the hormones factor] remains a theory rather than a proven explanation,’ she explains. ‘While these findings are certainly interesting, they don’t mean you can accurately predict someone’s penis size simply by looking at their nose. ‘The research has limitations, and there is considerable variation between individuals. ‘A correlation doesn’t necessarily mean one factor causes the other.’ ‘Nerves in the nose and the penis can react in similar ways’ While there might not be a direct correlation between penis and nose size, there are some similarities between that two, that are worth knowing about the next time you’re getting frisky with your partner. Clinical sexologist Ness Cooper tells Metro that both the penis and the nose contain erectile tissue and cells (as does the clitoris). She explains: ‘Nerve responses in the nose and the penis can react in similar ways, which is why a lot of sex toy websites used to suggest placing a vibrator against the tip of the nose to feel the vibrations, and if you think they’d be good on your genitals. ‘However, only a few people have claimed to experience sexual pleasure from stimulation to their nose, which is called nasophilia.’ A sexologist says nerves in the nose and penis can react in similar ways (Picture: Getty Images/Glowimages RF) Does penis size actually matter when it comes to sexual performance? Ness is keen to remind us that penis size doesn’t actually inform how enjoyable sex is. She says: ‘As the old saying goes, it’s how you use it.’ Dr Clair also warns that penis size also doesn’t determine whether someone will experience erectile dysfunction, which can be linked to various factors, including stress, anxiety, high blood pressure, diabetes, cardiovascular problems, and certain medications. In her view, men who are concerned about their performance in the bedroom should focus on their overall health, rather than their measurements. ‘Persistent erectile difficulties can sometimes be a sign of an underlying health condition, so it’s worth seeking medical advice rather than ignoring the problem,’ she suggests.
