Final adjournment in supermarket theft case

The prosecution has been granted one final adjournment to produce its file in an alleged 2025 supermarket theft case against driving instructor Summer Rain Heal. Heal, a 45-year-old driving instructor of College, Savannah, St John, is accused of stealing a quantity of fruits and vegetables, packs of stew, beef, pork, pork shoulder, quarter-pound burgers, snacks, cans of tuna and corned beef, and other food items all valued at $1 058, belonging to Massy Supercentre Warrens, on July 27, 2025. She pleaded not guilty to the charge. When the case was again called in the No. 1 District ‘A’ Magistrates’ Court, Sergeant Reginald Blackman requested an adjournment, saying that no file had yet been produced. Heal’s attorney, Senior Counsel Mitchell Gittens, however, insisted that the case was a simple one before asking for it to be dismissed. “We have been coming here for sometime and we don’t even have partial disclosure.” she said.
