Fallout season 3 could be coming soon. The Fallout franchise began in 1997 as a role-playing game by Interplay Entertainment, which then evolved into a multi-billion-dollar phenomenon with major sequels, spinoffs, and a record-breaking TV series. The original game sold 600,000 copies, which led to Bethesda Softworks purchasing the rights in 2007, and the video games continued an epic legacy that has since been revitalized due to Prime Video's new adaptation. With set videos and photos showing Walton Goggins and more on set once again, fans are eagerly awaiting the release of Prime Video's Fallout season 3. The series continues to be a huge hit for the streaming giant and is often regarded as one of the greatest video game adaptations in recent years, if not ever. One of the stars, Kyle MacLachlan, may have just revealed the release window. During a meetup at Barnes & Noble, MacLachlan told some fans: "We're still shooting away. We have about a month to go and then probably come out in May or June, maybe?" Filming was confirmed to be taking place in July when Goggins shared an Instagram post showcasing the extensive process of transforming into the Ghoul. With filming set to wrap in November, a May to June release window seems likely. Prime Video will be eager to release Fallout season 3 due to its record-breaking success. Season 1 pulled in 65 million viewers within its first 16 days before increasing to 83 million global viewers for season 2. Fallout is now Prime Video's second-biggest returning series performance of all time, and it also achieved incredible critical reception. On Rotten Tomatoes, critics rated season 1 a 93%, and season 2 with an even better score of 96%. Fallout season 2 has an incredible debut, with critics stating, "Thanks to its blend of genres, outstanding production values, top-tier performances, and impeccable craftsmanship, Fallout establishes itself as a benchmark for future live-action video game adaptations," and "We remain in awe of how dark and violent the sci-fi is, and how hopeless so many of its characters are, yet also how compulsively watchable and funny the series winds up being." ScreenRant's Graeme Guttman shared, "The end of the world is a lonely, scary place and Fallout makes sure to invest in its characters as much as it does its world so that, even when the story falters, we are still anchored within it." Fallout season 3's cast includes Goggins as The Ghoul, Ella Purnell as Lucy MacLean, Aaron Moten as Maximus, with Aaron Paul, Manny Jacinto, Emily Mortimer, and Thomasin McKenzie added to the cast as new additions for the upcoming season. Fallout seasons 1 and 2 are available to stream on Prime Video now, with a potential May or June release for season 3. Release Date April 10, 2024 Network Amazon Prime Video Showrunner Lisa Joy, Jonathan Nolan Based on the hit video game series and set 200 years after an apocalypse, Fallout follows residents of luxury shelters as they re-enter a post-nuclear world.
