| Soaps Reporter Published November 5, 2026 9:04am Updated November 5, 2026 9:05am It won’t be long until Tom is released (Picture: ITV) The following article contains spoilers from the episode of Emmerdale dated November 5. It hasn’t aired on ITV1 yet but can be viewed on ITVX and YouTube. Tom King (James Chase) has returned to our screens in Emmerdale. The character has been behind bars since 2024 after abusing partner Belle Dingle (Eden Taylor-Draper). Earlier this year, Belle was given the news that Tom would soon be released. Belle has tried to distract herself with work to prevent completely focusing on Tom’s upcoming return. This week, however, her anxiety and paranoia began bleeding into her day-to-day responsibilities, making it increasingly difficult for her to keep her mind on anything else. After a meeting with husband and wife to be Jordan and Caz, Belle began to worry that Jordan was controlling his partner. She invited Caz round and shared her concerns, believing that she was looking at a victim of domestic abuse. She sacked Belle as the wedding planner, calling her ‘troubled’ as she left. Concern grew for Belle in today’s episode, as Kammy Hadiq (Shebz Miah) discovered a wreath full of dead flowers on the doorstep. Kammy, Cain Dingle (Jeff Hordley) and Sam Dingle (James Hooton) assumed that Tom King had sent it. Going full protective big brother mode, Cain headed off to the prison to see Tom, which meant he wasn’t around when Caz rocked up and confirmed that Jordan sent the wreath. It was clear in Cain’s meeting with Tom that time behind bars has not changed this man for the better. Everything he said was with a smug smile, and he took great pleasure in trying to wind Cain up about his cancer. Back at home, Cain updated Moira Dingle (Natalie J Robb) about Tom. He said that it felt as though Tom was getting off on the fact he’s got cancer, and looked at him like a ‘walking corpse’. Moira suggested that Cain should focus on Samson Dingle’s (Sam Hall) return rather than Tom, but he was convinced that letting a ‘cockroach’ like Tom go will just cause him to crawl back. In an attempt to warn Tom, Cain will organise for him to be attacked in upcoming episodes – and the person doing the punches will be revealed to be Samson. Belle’s family are determined to protect her (Picture: ITV) This is terrible in more ways than one because not only has Cain instigated violence, now Samson will not be returning home. In fact, he’s looking at an even longer stretch. Sam (James Hooton) is crushed to receive a call saying his son will not be let out. As the Dingles fall apart, Belle concludes that the only way this matter can be dealt with is if she visits Tom herself in hospital. She heads to the hospital with Kammy, but leaves him outside as she heads in to speak with Tom. They make a promise – if she’s not out in 10 minutes, Kammy’s storming in.
