Embattled GOP congressman accused of using Meta Glasses to snoop on ex-wife’s lawyers in court

Attorneys for Emily Moreno want Miller to hand over the glasses so they can be examined after the congressman was seen wearing them before a July 28 hearing in the estranged couple’s child custody fight. “This is notable because [Miller] had never worn any sort of eyewear to a hearing previously,” Moreno’s attorneys wrote in a filing last week, per the New York Post. “[Miller] specifically wore Meta Glasses, which, importantly, can be used for recording purposes.”“[Miller] has a history of surreptitious recording—he has made reference to the fact that Ohio is a single-party consent state and how he is not violating any laws when he records conversations with individuals multiple times,” the attorneys added.Miller’s attorneys denied that Miller was wearing the Meta Glasses during the court hearing. Miller’s attorneys late last week pushed back at the effort to inspect the lawmaker’s Meta Glasses and provided a sworn statement from the Miller that he was not recording during the custody hearing.But Moreno’s attorneys alluded to concerns that the congressman could’ve laid the glasses down and been recording their private conversations while in court.Miller has publicly released a number of secret recordings that he made of his former spouse, the Post reported, including “one that lent credence to her accusations that he dumped hot water on her in 2024.”The congressman has denied the abuse accusations leveled against him by his ex-wife.
