She suggested the claims were a good opportunity to teach people about demons and evil as she connected it to her past issues with alcohol and drugs. “The best example for my experience is using the internet as a means of validation to the negative thoughts in my head which were then brought on by drinking alcohol,” the Kiss Me More singer expressed. “I’ve never had a real problem with drugs except for weed but alcohol is something that I’ve definitely had a problem with. “I was never an alcoholic but I definitely had problems. So if I can teach anybody anything, I will tell you that it’s not good to pair these two things together.” Doja, whose real name is Amala Ratna Zandile Dlamini, went on to divulge: “I have struggled with cocaine, I think could have been like eight years ago, but I’m well past that so thank God.” She said that an extreme issue that is often overlooked or misunderstood is “undiagnosed” or “uncared for” mental illness paired with social media. She concluded her rant by advising social media users to consider before commenting online. “Think about what you’re saying, think about if it’s a projection. “Be clear in your words – this isn’t a place where people want to be clear. Not everything is the truth, not everything is so cut and dry.” It comes after she revealed back in May that she plans to quit fame and wants to take at least “three years off.” She told Elle magazine: “I think I want to take three years off. I want to just do whatever. I might do another mural. “I’m going to furnish this whole upper area of my house because there’s literally nothing in here and there’s been nothing in here for four years or five.” She shot to fame back in 2018 after her music went viral on social media, specifically her song ‘Mooo!’ which became a meme-driven sensation. Her song ‘So High’ caught the attention of Kemosabe and RCA Records and she went on to sign a record deal with them. She’s released five albums in the last eight years and is often regarded as the ‘Queen of Pop-Rap’. Billboard named her “one of the world’s biggest pop stars” and in 2023, Time listed her as one of the world’s most influential people. Comment now
