Does ‘The Odyssey’ Have a Post-Credits Scene?

It wouldn’t be an odyssey if something wasn’t keeping you from going home. Does The Odyssey have a post-credits scene? After you’ve gone through the trials and tribulations required to secure tickets to Christopher Nolan’s epic, acquired your drink and snacks of choice, made it to your seat in time to see the Dune Part Three trailer, and then watched the dang movie—do you need to stay through the credits too? Here’s what you need to know before seeing The Odyssey about what comes after.It’s not like there’s a sequel to Homer’s Odyssey. I guess you could consider Virgil’s epic poem The Aeneid to be a sequel,, or spinoff since it’s about a survivor of the Trojan War on the Roman side. Nolan could also do a prequel of sorts, sure, with any number of Trojan War tales like Homer’s Iliad, Shakespeare’s Troilus and Cressida or the much more recent The Song of Achilles by Madeline Miller. But that’s all wishful thinking, and it’s very unlikely that The Odyssey or Nolan himself has anything to “tease” like that. It’s not really his style. That said, sometimes post-credit scenes are for comedy. We could check back in on Circe (Samantha Morton) and her bird sister. See what that tall baby is up to on the Laestrygonian island. Learn for certain whether or not Melantho (Mia Goth) survived the suitor battle at the end. Anything?Should I stick around through The Odyssey’s credits?Not to be crass, but, despite the cast full of MCU alum, there is not a post-credits scene attached to this movie. No blooper reel either, I might add. Would have been nice! Keighley was the first chief quality officer at IMAX and pioneered the format for years. He has a movie theater named after him. Nolan named the camera he filmed The Odyssey with after him. They met while the auteur was making The Dark Knight and collaborated on Dunkirk, Tenet, and Oppenheimer.Also, this doesn’t apply to The Odyssey, but if you’re watching a movie musical, always check the “additional voices” in the credits to see which overqualified Broadway singers got in the booth to fill out the ensemble.
