Doctor Who's David Tennant Returning For New Movie Event With Billie Piper

Doctor Who is coming to theaters. David Tennant and Billie Piper are returning to the world of Doctor Who for a special movie event, which will be released in theaters around the world. Tennant is best known for his role as the Tenth Doctor, a fan favorite who appeared from season 2 through the end of season 4, alongside five special episodes to close out his run. Piper portrayed Rose Tyler, the Doctor's very first companion in the modern era. She recently returned at the end of Doctor Who season 15, portraying the next regeneration of the Doctor. According to Radio Times, BBC Studios will be releasing Doctor Who: The Satan Pit Extended Cut in theaters for a one-night-only special release, showing Tennant's Tenth Doctor and Piper's Rose onscreen together once more. The movie is a re-edited version of Doctor Who season 2, episodes 8 and 9, "The Impossible Planet" and "The Satan Pit," featuring deleted scenes and new, never-before-seen footage edited into the movie-length release. The film will be screened in 1,000 theaters in the UK, Ireland, Australia, New Zealand, the US, and Canada on Doctor Who Day, November 23, 2026.
