Did you solve it? The fin-tastic fish puzzle

Earlier today I set you the following puzzles. Here they are again with the solutions.A fish is swimming in a tank that is two metres high, one metre across and one metre deep. The image below shows one path it swam.Here is the same path shown from the front, the right side and the top.I gave two examples of a front and side view, and asked you to draw the top view of the shortest path that results in those views.1. SolutionStart off by looking at the cross section defined by the vertical line of the 1. The diagonal of the 7 has to be on that plane, as does the horizontal part of the 7. The final segment has to be on the area I shaded in above right. The top view is thus:2. SolutionThe bottom half of the path must fall on the shaded cross section above left. Likewise, the top section (excluding the very top and middle of the tank) must fall on the shaded cross section above centre. We want the shortest path, so there is only one way to join the bottom part of the path to the top part, and to link the path on the top cross section, above right.
