After initially being reported as far back as March, the clash between Concord De La Salle (Calif.) and Corona Centennial (Calif.) was finally made official on Friday night. The matchup, which has been reported on as far back as March and June, is set to take place at the stadium of the University of California. Additionally, according to reports earlier in the summer, the game is set to be one of the premier clashes to air on the ESPN Network, as reported by Sports Illustrated’s Tarek Fattal. In their 2025 campaign, De La Salle emerged as one of the top teams in California, finishing the year with a 12-1 record and making it to the CIF Open Division championship game. Meanwhile, Centennial enters the upcoming season as the number four team in California, according to Massey Ratings. “De La Salle High School is proud to announce the inaugural 151 Football Showcase, a premier celebration of high school football featuring four of California’s top programs. The event will take place on Saturday, 26, 2026, at Memorial Stadium on the campus of the University of California, Berkeley.” The Spartans announced on their website. Across the school’s history, De La Salle has won eight CIF championships in the modern era and owns the nation’s longest win streak at 151 games in a row, which is to be commemorated during their game against Centennial, according to the school’s website. “The showcase pays tribute to one of the greatest achievements in high school football history — De La Salle’s historic 151-game winning streak from 1992-2004. Under legendary head coach Bob Ladouceur, the Spartans won 151 consecutive games, establishing the longest winning streak in the history of American football.” Heading into the upcoming clash, the Spartans return a significant amount of talent, including one of the best in California, with four-star linebacker Landon Miller, going into his junior year, ranking No. 11 in the state according to Rivals Industry Rankings. The Spartans also return a number of pieces on the offensive side of the ball, with three-star running back Duece Jones-Drew and three-star wide receiver Demari Dean. During the 2025 season, Jones-Drew put up 83 carries for 463 yards, with Dean coming into the equation of the JV Roster, with offers from UCLA and California. Meanwhile, the Huskies will return their own three-star defensive talent, with Jaden Walk-Green returning for his senior year. Centennial also enters the clash with one of the top receiver prospects in the nation, four-star USC commit Quentin Hale. Rivals Prediction Data currently predicts the Huskies will come out on top. With the clash taking place in California, Berkley, additional reports from Mitch Stephens revealed that California head coach Tosh Lupoi was pivotal in hosting the clash at his program’s stadium. Lupoi was a De La Salle alumnus, playing a role in their 151-game winning streak. “He had everything to do with it. We’re looking forward to the game, rekindling our relationship with coach (Matt) Logan and the Centennial program, and beginning this as an annual showcase at Cal.” De La Salle head coach Justin Alumbaugh said, as reported by Mitch Stephens. With the long-awaited game finally being announced, both teams will take to the field at Berkley at the end of next month. During his pre-season previews, Rivals Andy Villamarzo predicted that the favored Huskies would come out on top.
