Control Resonant: Charge The Central Checkpoint Walkthrough Guide Published Sep 22, 2026, 10:11 AM EDT Collin is a Guides Staff Writer at TheGamer who has been writing guides for nearly ten years. He is also a professional game/level designer. More importantly, he's still waiting for a new Ape Escape game to release. Control Resonant is finally here, so grab your shapeshifting weapon and get ready to beat the hell out of some paranatural enemies. While you will spend a lot of time fighting the Hiss or scurrying across the roofs of New York City, Dylan will need to solve the occasional puzzle if they want to progress. One of the earliest is during the second mission, "Welcome To Manhattan," which requires you to charge the Central Checkpoint because the FBC worker couldn't be asked. Here's what you need to know to complete this puzzle so you can progress the main quest. How To Power Up The Central Checkpoint During the second mission, you will be instructed to make your way to the Central Checkpoint where you'll find a bunch of Hiss and a note from Baker, the FBC maintenance worker who abandoned his post. After killing the Hiss, enter the checkpoint and interact with the file on the table to your left to find a crudely drawn map of the surrounding area with five cubes marked in a specific order. Your goal is to power up these nodes along the route in the correct order to unlock the path through the Central Checkpoint. To do this, hit the sparking orange-colored cube across from the table where you found Baker's drawing. This will temporarily transfer the electricity from the cube to your Aberrant, giving you around 20 seconds to reach the next box and hit it to power it up. Power Core 1 Location To start this puzzle, take the power from the starting Power Core and run it to the one directly across from the checkpoint that's leaning against the central pillar where you previously fought the Hiss. Power Core 2 Location Power Core 2 can be found hidden away in a loading dock about a block away. From the central pillar, run down the road on the right and then take the first left under the small white unionization banner on the light poll. Then take an immediate left down the ramp to find the core. Before you keep going, make sure to approach Baker's body in the open garage. This will prompt a brief dialogue exchange with Zoe over the radio about Dylan's guilt. Inside the garage is also a chest with some upgrade materials you'll want! Power Core 3 Location The third Power Core is going to be on a rooftop north of your location. From Power Core 2, turn and face the ramp you just ran down. You will want to go further down the alley where the Hiss Spikes are. Jump onto the green awnings to the left and use them to reach the rooftop on the right (path shown above). Keep in mind, this area almost always has Hiss enemies floating around, so you might want to go up ahead of running the charge to clear them out. If you're struggling against the Hiss Elevated and Hiss Focused, make sure to always keep on the move. These enemies are very deadly if you just stand and constantly attack one target. Lean more into dodging attacks against them to ensure their ranged moves do not hit you. Also, don't forget to snag the Power Core Complaint file on the air conditioner right next to this power core! Power Core 4 Location Your next Power Core is much easier to both reach and locate. From Power Core 3, run across the rooftops towards the FBC outpost that's been set up between the buildings. This is the area with the massive concrete walls, green shipping containers, and armed guards hanging around inside. You can find the next Power Core right in front of where the guards are hanging around. Power Core 5 Location The final Power Core can be found further down the road. Hit Power Core 4 and head out to the main road and hang a right. You'll need to sprint down the road; otherwise, there won't be enough time to reach the cube. Be ready though; once you power up this core, you will trigger a pretty lengthy fight with the Hiss. Defeat The Hiss The final part of this puzzle requires you to fight three waves of Hiss. This will be a pretty difficult early fight, as the Hiss can be absolutely relentless in their attacks. Focus on the Hiss Colliders first, as the regular grunts will endlessly respawn until these two top-heavy enemies are defeated. Their attacks are slow, but will hit you quite hard, so make liberal use of your dodge against them. Once the two Colliders are dead, two Hiss Focused will appear. These are ranged enemies that fire a continuous energy beam at you. Use the large concrete slabs on either side of the road to both block the beam and isolate enemies during this section. You should focus heavily on using your Secondary Aberrant to build up the Falter meter on the beefier enemies. Not only will this give you an Execution prompt, but you'll regain a decent amount of life and a temporary damage boost. Chaining your Executions both against normal enemies and the more specialized types of Hiss is the key to surviving a lot of these bigger fights. Falter damage is extremely strong and the advantages of constantly having the damage boost active cannot be overstated. When all the Hiss are defeated, approach either the right or left glowing green control panels and interact with them to lower the elevator so you can reach the Watchtower.
