After serving for around eight years, he had a dispute with a senior officer, following which a departmental enquiry was initiated against him and finally dismissed in 1999.Ex-CRPF constable Girwar Singh spent 27 years as a seer after he was dismissed from service in 1999.Girwar Singh Tomar, a former CRPF hawaldar from Madhya Pradesh's Morena, lost his job in 1999 following departmental action and later became a seer at a temple, spending 27 years serving at a temple.He, however, never gave up his legal fight to secure reinstatement and his efforts finally paid off last month when he returned to duty in Bijapur, Chhattisgarh.Girwar Singh joined the CRPF as a hawaldar in 1991. After serving for around eight years, he had a dispute with a senior officer, following which a departmental enquiry was initiated against him.He was dismissed from service in 1999. After losing his job, Girwar Singh returned to Morena. His life then took an unexpected turn as he began living at a temple, devoting himself to worship and meditation.He later reached a cave temple, where he became known as a seer as Girvar Das Maharaj. But while his spiritual journey continued, so did his fight to get his job back.In 1999, Girwar Singh approached the Madhya Pradesh High Court challenging his dismissal. Nearly eight years later, in 2007, the court ruled in his favour.However, the CRPF obtained a stay on the order, sending the matter into another prolonged legal battle.Girwar Singh then appealed before a double bench of the High Court. After years of hearings, the court again ruled in his favour in August 2025 and ordered his reinstatement.Even after the court order, his appointment did not come immediately. He continued pursuing the matter, sending legal notices to the authorities and demanding that the order be implemented.Finally, in August, the day he had waited for 27 years arrived.Girwar Singh was reinstated in the CRPF and posted to Bijapur, Chhattisgarh.
