Cold Feet star admits he hasn’t landed ANY jobs in six months – despite ITV hit

COLD Feet star John Thomson has revealed he’s struggling for acting work – confessing he’s not booked a single gig this year. John, 57, played Pete Gifford in Cold Feet – often dubbed the UK’s answer to Friends – and starred in Coronation Street as Jesse Chadwick on and off from 2008 until 2024. During an appearance on the Scary Clown Deep Dive podcast, John said: “Not this year I’m not [busy]. Sign up for the TV newsletter Thank you! “Last year was feast, this year is famine. I haven’t done a single acting job for six months. “It’s hard now. No one’s got any money, that’s the problem. For commercial stations that rely on advertising, everyone has switched to platforms so they just pay subscriptions. “If you wanted to advertise your product, why would you pick a commercial station that people are tuning out of?” But earlier this year John hinted that Cold Feet – which first aired 28 years ago in 1997 before being brought back for a reboot in 2016 – is set for a comeback. During an appearance on Gaby Roslin’s podcast with his co-stars Fay Ripley and James Nesbitt, he said: “As far as I am concerned on a business model level you should supply on demand really so I don’t know what they are doing… “I’ve already teased the idea, because of the success of Gavin and Stacey and their reunited Christmas special it would be better to test the water with a Christmas special.” Most read in TV James added: “The very fact people responded in the way they did suggests to me that there is no reason why it shouldn’t come back… I’d love it to come back.” Comment now
