The theft of piping used to heat classrooms at Bulls School has left a Rangitikei District councillor concerned that children returning to school on Monday will suffer.The primary school was the target of copper theft about 10.15am on Saturday.In a social media post, Bulls School said the theft had caused "significant disruption" to the school.Councillor Paul Sharland, who has lived in the town for more than 30 years, said he was disgusted."It's pretty sad that somebody can come along and pinch something from a primary school - I mean, pinch anything from anywhere really, but especially from a primary school," he said.Sharland said it had been cold in the town with a couple of "quite bad" frosts."As a Bulls resident, I'm quite disgusted to hear that sort of thing's happening, especially at a primary school, and our poor kids are going to have to suffer if they're going to go back to a cold classroom."Bulls School has asked the community for help in identifying the two people in the post."If you recognise either of these individuals or the vehicle they were using, please contact New Zealand Police and quote case number P067035575."Every piece of information could make a difference."Thank you for helping us bring those responsible to justice."Police said it had received a report, and the information provided was being assessed.
