GATES MILLS, OhioCar fire: Mayfield RoadA car caught fire in the engine compartment when it overheated near Chagrin River Road Aug. 21. The fire department put out the fire with nobody being injured. The roadway had to be shut down for about an hour due to the fire. General assistance: Mayfield RoadOfficers gave a man a courtesy ride after finding him walking along the roadway around 1 a.m. Aug. 16.He was dressed in dark clothing, so officers felt it would be safe to get him off the roadway.General assistance: Fox Hill DriveOfficers assisted a resident Aug. 16 with a vehicle lockout with a 17-month-old child inside of it. 911 calls: Chagrin River RoadOfficers responded to an open 911 call in the 1700-block Aug. 18 and confirmed that the call had been made accidentally by a contractor at the home. Suspicion: County Line RoadAn out-of-town resident said Aug. 20 that Ring camera video at the home was showing a man there on a ladder.Responding officers confirmed that a Spectrum worker was working there.
