Car allegedly stolen with 93yo man still in passenger seat

A Victorian man has been refused bail after allegedly driving off with a passenger in his 90s during a daytime carjacking outside a hospital in Shepparton, in the state's north.Police say a 93-year-old Tongala man was sitting in the passenger seat of a vehicle outside Goulburn Valley Health on Graham Street about 4:30pm on Friday when a 23-year-old Shepparton man allegedly hopped into the driver's seat and drove off.It is understood the female driver had left the vehicle to purchase something nearby at the time.Police found the vehicle an hour and a half later parked on Ford Road with the victim still inside, uninjured. Police say a 23-year-old man was located nearby after he allegedly forced entry into an office building. The 23-year-old man will return to court next month. (ABC News: Andrew Mangelsdorf)Shepparton Crime Investigation Unit detectives arrested the man and charged him with false imprisonment, motor vehicle theft and burglary. The man has been remanded to appear at Shepparton Magistrates' Court on August 21.
