Police launched the search after local residents reported seeing four men carrying digging tools in the area late Tuesday. After reviewing CCTV footage, officers searched the site on Wednesday morning and uncovered parts of the motorcycle buried near Moo 9 village. Officials said the four men fled when authorities arrived. According to the Bangkok Post, residents told investigators the burial site was located near the home of a man identified only as “Pong.” The newspaper reported that he had been released from prison about two months ago and was locally known for carrying weapons. Residents also said another man, identified only as “Thong,” was seen digging in the area from late Tuesday afternoon until around 11 p.m. Witnesses reported seeing both men again Wednesday morning before they fled in opposite directions after noticing police. However, authorities have not announced any arrests or formally identified suspects in the case. The missing Russians have been identified as 22-year-old Diana Nazimova and her 17-year-old brother Roman, whose family has lived in Pattaya for several years. According to police, the siblings left their home in the Bristol Park Pattaya housing estate in Huai Yai at about 4 a.m. on Sunday, riding the motorcycle later found buried. Their mother, 40-year-old Zarina Nazimova, initially believed they had gone to a nearby convenience store. About 20 minutes after they left, she received a text message from Diana containing only one word: “Urgent!” Police later reviewed surveillance footage showing the motorcycle leaving the residential area and entering a nearby highway. The siblings have not been heard from since. Thai police, assisted by local residents and Russian volunteers living in Thailand, continue searching for the missing siblings. Investigators also plan to search a pond near the site where the motorcycle was recovered as they seek further evidence. Authorities have not disclosed a possible motive for the siblings’ disappearance, and the investigation remains ongoing.
