Boy, 17, & two men arrested as shotgun seized after ‘targeted’ broad daylight shooting in town centre

A TEENAGE boy and two men have been arrested after a “targeted” broad daylight shooting in a busy town centre. Cops have also seized a shotgun and ammunition after the horror in Braintree, Essex, on Monday night. A third victim was also rushed to hospital along with the teens, but none were said to have been in a life-threatening condition. And issuing an update this morning, officers confirmed three men have been arrested. The suspects, a 17-year-old boy and two men from Chelmsford, aged 18 and 23, have been detained on suspicion of conspiracy to murder. A shotgun and ammunition have also been recovered following enquiries. Most read in The Sun The two teens who suffered serious injuries are still receiving medical treatment. Detective Inspector Frazer Low said: “These arrests are the result of days of intensive work by officers and staff. “We are not looking for anyone else in connection with this incident. “While we continue to believe this incident is linked to a dispute connected to criminal drug activity, our enquiries have established that none of those injured were involved in that offending. “I would like to thank the community for their patience and support since Monday night. “We know an incident of this nature, in such a prominent public location, will have caused concern. “We remain committed to keeping our communities safe and are grateful for the information and assistance we have received from the public.” The force was previously working on the theory that the shooting was “targeted” and linked to drugs.
