Already, Bilt Platinum members receive a free annual helicopter transfer And Bilt Gold and Platinum members can visit BLADE lounges, even when not flying, and have two complimentary drinks per visit. Now Bilt Points can be redeemed towards paid BLADE trips. However, since this isn’t a Bilt Travel Portal redemption (1.25 cents apiece) you should not do it. Redemptions are at just $0.007 each towards BLADE flights. And Bilt Cash can be redeemed for BLADE travel as well, which is great because at the end of each calendar year, any Bilt Cash balance over $100 will expire. That last piece is the really big news. Bilt members earn $25 in Bilt Cash per 25,000 points earned in the program. Additionally, Bilt cobrand credit cards earn 4% back in Bilt Cash, in addition to points, unless you opt for the ‘housing only’ earn choice with your card. $350 in Bilt Cash covers the BLADE fare up to $350. It does not cover incidentals like extra baggage. And this can be redeemed twice per calendar year. BLADE fares usually seem to run $195 – $290 or so (minus 10% discount for Bilt Silver members and above). Bilt Cash only covers the ‘Basic’ fare. So if you buy Flex or Max, the upcharge has to be paid separately. You’re likely to be ‘overpaying’ in Bilt Cash for this redemption, since the basic fare is generally going to be under $300. At checkout, you can combine $350 Bilt Cash and pay with points for any remaining balance or pay with any card that’s been linked in the Bilt app. A number of readers ask, and threads are all over social media wondering, what to do with all the Bilt Cash that’s being earned? Folks like earning points with the Bilt cards because they’re generally among the fastest-earning cards out there, and they’re earning the most valuable points currency (most and best transfer partners, plus 1.25 cent redemption for paid travel booked throug their portal). But they find they’re using their cards enough as a result that they’re accumulating enough Bilt Cash that they’re maxing out on Point Accelerators, redeeming for points from housing payments, and using all the Lyft, Grubhub, and Walgreens credits they possibly can. I’m in that same boat myself. The Bilt Palladium Card (See rates and fees) is my primary, default card for spend and it’s one of only two I have my wife spending on regularly. For these folks, BLADE flights either as a New York resident or when visiting the New York area are a great option. I’ve been redeeming my annual Platinum flight each year. This was my first redemption. Then I redeemed the one I earned in 2025 back in January, and the one I earned for requalifying this year last month. So I’ll definitely make use of this benefit (and won’t have to ration them to only take BLADE in one direction). It’s not a great option for when I travel to the city with my family, because traveling with my kids means too much baggage. But it’s perfect for solo trips.
