BGMI Lite pre-registrations go live in India, know all about the new game here

BGMI Lite pre-registration is now live in India for Android users, with a roughly 1GB initial download and support for existing BGMI accounts. BGMI Lite pre-registration is now live in India for Android users, giving players a chance to sign up ahead of the game's launch later this year.Krafton says BGMI Lite is designed to bring the core Battlegrounds experience to more players, but in a smaller and more accessible package. The game is being built around the idea of “Nothing Less, Just Lighter”, which pretty much sums up what Krafton is trying to do.BGMI Lite pre-registration is now liveAndroid users in India can now pre-register for BGMI Lite through the Google Play Store. Krafton has not announced the exact launch date yet, but the game is scheduled to arrive later in 2026.The company is also teasing exclusive rewards for players who pre-register, although the details of those rewards will be announced later. For now, iPhone users are still out of the loop. Krafton has not shared details about BGMI Lite's iOS availability or pre-registration yet.In terms of size, Krafton says the game will have an initial download size of around 1GB, making it much easier to install compared with the full-sized BGMI experience. This could be particularly useful for players using older or more affordable smartphones, where storage and performance can quickly become a headache.Krafton, however, has not yet revealed the complete hardware requirements, so we still don't know exactly how low-end a phone can go before BGMI Lite says, “Nope, that's too much.”Existing BGMI players won't need to start from scratch. Krafton says no ID or account transfer is required for BGMI Lite.Players can simply log in using their existing BGMI account, with their items and progress carried over. That means your hard-earned collection won't be left behind just because you're moving to the lighter version.Even better, BGMI Lite will support cross-play with the standard BGMI, allowing players on both versions to squad up and play together.BGMI Lite could be a big deal for older phonesAs smartphone prices continue to rise and users hold on to their existing phones for longer, there is a huge audience that may want to play BGMI without having a powerful gaming phone. A smaller game could give Krafton a way to reach those players without asking them to upgrade their hardware.For now, Krafton is keeping details such as supported devices, graphics settings, maps and game modes under wraps.
