Best Build For Dietrich: Sword Classes And Skills — Fire Emblem: Fortune's Weave

He has covered some of the biggest releases of recent years, including leading the site's coverage of Baldur's Gate 3, Dragon's Dogma 2, and plenty of other massive RPGs. Dietrich is strongest when his build keeps the Sword at its centre in Fire Emblem: Fortune's Weave. Gladiator, Myrmidon and Shido form a direct route toward a fast, hard-hitting swordsman, with class skills that reward accurate finishing blows and frequent combat arts. The long-term goal is The Blade, a Divine Class that suits his sword focus. Before that becomes available, Shadow Seeker offers a flexible Master Class step, especially if another unit will take The Blade instead. Best Class Progression For Dietrich Tier Class Description Beginner Gladiator The Sword is Dietrich's main weapon, almost by default. This gets him on that track. Hunter Bow is a decent backup in many situations, especially against fliers, and it's also useful for later class unlocks. Specialty Myrmidon Strengthens the Sword-based build, moving towards Shadow Seeker and Blade. Rogue Keeps Bow training relevant and earns some useful map utility. Advanced Shido Main Sword class in this tier, endgame class for Part 1. Master Shadow Seeker Fantastic class, fantastic skill. Endgame selection if you have someone else in mind for The Blade. Divine The Blade Preferred endgame class. Keep Sword as the priority throughout. Gladiator and Myrmidon lead naturally into Shido, whose Sword Crit +5 and Combat Arts +2 suit Dietrich's offensive role. Ravaging Arts is the Myrmidon mastery to carry forward, while Shido's Ever Vigilant is another worthwhile mastery for a critical-hit-oriented build. Hunter and Rogue are supporting detours, not a change to a Bow-first build. They let Dietrich train Bows for situations where a ranged backup helps; Rogue also supplies Locktouch and Search while he is in that class. If you master Rogue, In Shadow is its transferable reward. Carrying Bow training into Part 3 also prepares him for Shadow Seeker, which has Sword A and Bow A as its requirements and grants Dropshadow Blade on mastery. The Blade is the preferred endgame class for Dietrich, but it is an exclusive Divine Class with only one active holder. If you want another character to take The Blade, keep Dietrich in Shadow Seeker instead. It is a legitimate Sword-and-Bow endgame option, not merely a stopgap before the Divine Class.
