Her touching obituary posted on The Boston Globe states that Chris was told the devastating news in December and passed away “peacefully in her sleep” on June 2 2026. The obituary states that “were the animating force of her last two decades. After being diagnosed with cancer, Chris revealed that her “greatest wish” was to see her grandson graduate from high school. He didn’t go to college. “He was an auto mechanic and a bartender and a janitor at Harvard.” Ben also opened up about how his mum was one of his biggest supporters. Recalling the moment he brought his mum as his plus one to the Oscars in 1998 when won the gong for screenplay for Good Will Hunting, he told Vanity Fair: “We were sitting next to our moms and we won, and we kind of hugged our moms. “I remember how everyone had made such a big thing out of it as if this was such a novelty. “I remember thinking, being insecure, like, ‘Why?
