Though he has a particular affinity for multiplayer titles like World of Warcraft, Destiny 2 and League of Legends, he has also put thousands of hours into single-player experiences, from deep RPGs to epic PC strategies. Batman: The Animated Series has a very real argument to say that it's the best true adaptation of the Caped Crusader that we have yet seen as fans. The Dark Knight is obviously also up there, but in terms of which is a more true adaptation of the source material, that award goes to the cartoon and it's not even particularly close. A big part of that success is the unbelievable array of voice talent on show, from Kevin Conroy's Batman to Mark Hamill's iconic run as the Joker. Their performances coalesced with the art style and story to create a final product that really isn't like anything else. Now, the show has just returned in a new form, and it's a hugely ambitious rendition that fans will want to be aware of. Batman: The Animated Series Returns in Enemies of Gotham Over on the Upper Deck website, you can find the store page for Enemies of Gotham City, a board game that brings back all the sights and sounds of Batman: The Animated Series. It's a game with a ton of depth that's aimed at 2-5 players, and that level of detail means you'll be looking at between 60-150 minutes for a single run through. In sharing a description of the game, so fans can make an informed purchase, Upper Deck published the following: "In Enemies of Gotham City, play as infamous villains like The Joker, Poison Ivy, and Two Face. Fight to make some cash, thwart Batman, and become the most feared villain in Gotham City. To do this, you’ll have to plan out your moves and strategize, but you must also be adaptable, Gotham City is in chaos, and your plans may not always go as intended! Wrestle for control of Gotham’s districts with rival villains and out-think your opponents by using your power and weapons. "Watch out for Batman and his allies who are looking to bring peace to Gotham City and send you to Arkham Asylum. Will you become the most infamous villain of them all, or are you just another two-bit crook? Enemies of Gotham City is a competitive area control game about Villains competing to earn the most Infamy. Earn Infamy by burning buildings, controlling Gotham City’s districts, and fighting Batman. At the end of the final round, the Villain that has accrued the most Infamy will win the game. This game is all about timing, positioning, and taking advantage of situations to outsmart your opponents." The game is available to purchase right now, and you're getting a lot of stuff if you do decide to commit to the purchase. Unfortunately, that does mean it will set you back $149.99, but for the amount of hours of enjoyment you'll get out of that, it's actually quite a reasonable price. Batman Remains As Popular As Ever Via MovieStillsDB Elsewhere, Batman continues to do well as a wider franchise, and there are plenty of other releases on the way to celebrate that. The Batman: Part II is expected to drop in October of next year (assuming there are no further delays), while in the longer term James Gunn's DC reboot is planning to introduce a new version of the character. Add to that equation Rocksteady's as-yet-unannounced game fronted by Batman and we should be in for an exciting few years. Release Date 1992 - 1995-00-00 Network FOX, Fox Kids Showrunner Bruce Timm Cast Efrem Zimbalist Jr. Alfred Pennyworth (voice) Batman: The Animated Series follows Bruce Wayne as he wages a one-man war on crime in Gotham City, protecting its citizens as the mysterious vigilante Batman.
