Baseless claim Natalie Harp is Trump's hospice nurse spreads online

President Donald Trump's executive assistant has been nicknamed "the human printer." Published July 2, 2026 Claim: Natalie Harp, a young woman often seen in photographs with President Donald Trump during his second term, is a hospice nurse. Rating: Rumors that an aide frequently seen accompanying U.S. President Donald Trump was secretly a hospice nurse circulated online in early July 2026. Users on social media posted photos of a young woman who worked for the president, some claiming she was having an affair with Trump but others writing, "This is his hospice nurse. They're trying to sell us on an affair because that's less politically damaging than an 80 year old, terminally ill president, who needs his diaper changed by a nurse every few hours." The claim circulated amid ongoing rumors about the president's health. The claim was false. The woman in the circulating photographs is Natalie Harp, who works as the president's assistant. There was no evidence Harp was certified to work as a hospice nurse, and theories that she was performing those duties for Trump were purely speculative, based on Harp's publicly known closeness with the president. Additionally, there is no record of a Natalie Harp licensed as a nurse in Washington, D.C., or in Florida, the site of Trump's Mar-a-Lago resort. The White House has not responded to requests for comment on the claim that Harp is secretly a hospice nurse. The claim circulated after journalist Michael Wolff's book about Trump, "All or Nothing: How Trump Recaptured America," reported that Harp was known to pass the president personal notes and that she had become "the president's closest confidant." Harp's financial disclosure paperwork hosted on the White House website specified Harp as "special assistant to the President and Executive Assistant to the President, Trump-Vance (2025)" with a date of appointment listed as Jan. 20, 2025, the day of Trump's second-term inauguration. The Washington Post reported in June 2025 that Trump dictated his social media posts to Harp, who would also follow him around with a "small printer and fresh copies of news reports." That particular tidbit was mentioned in many stories about Harp, with outlets reporting her nickname was "the human printer," including Wired, Vanity Fair and The New York Times. Wired also included Harp in its June 2025 reporting about Trump's inner circle and specified she worked as executive assistant to the president: "Harp, another of Trump's favorite young women in his inner circle, sits directly outside the door to the Oval Office." The New York Times profiled Harp in November 2024, reporting that she was "little known beyond Mr. Trump's immediate orbit" but was "poised to play a potentially influential role in his White House, sitting right outside the Oval Office and acting as the conduit for a largely unsupervised flow of information to and from the president and helping him with his social media feed." Where Harp came from Trump first welcomed Harp into his orbit following an appearance she made on Fox News in 2019, where she credited Trump's signing of the "Right to Try Act," which allowed critically ill patients the right to try experimental therapies, with helping her live through a bone cancer diagnosis. He invited her to speak at the 2020 Republican National Convention, and she officially joined his team in 2022. Wolff wrote that Harp received an undergraduate degree from Point Loma Nazarene University in San Diego. She was listed in the 2015 Liberty University commencement booklet (Page 12) among students earning a masters degree in business administration. According to the program, Harp graduated with high distinction. Harp's close relationship with the president has been widely reported in the media. Vanity Fair, publishing an excerpt from Wolff's book, reported in February 2025 that "every effort by the staff to create distance between Natalie and the boss was met by redoubled efforts on her part to remain close, her doggedness amusing and impressing Trump," part of a narrative that Harp is widely untrusted and disliked by Trump's administration. The Daily Beast reported that her estranged brother, Preston Harp, said, "My sister and I were raised to believe in U.S. exceptionalism from childhood through high school, and that is exactly what Trump embodies.
