Baldur's Gate 3 On Sale For Its Lowest Price Ever On PC And PS5

Baldur's Gate 3 Sale Slashes Its Price To A New Low To Celebrate Its Third Birthday Larian Studios Published Aug 3, 2026, 5:41 AM EDT Josh Coulson is an editor at TheGamer covering breaking news on everything from colorful platformers to the latest Lego sets. Primarily a news writer since 2018, Josh has covered just about every major game from the past decade. Now an editor, their focus has shifted to being the leading affiliate expert at the site, building relationships between TheGamer and global brands including Mattel, Funko, and The Pokemon Company. Baldur’s Gate 3 turns three today, and to celebrate, Larian Studios has slashed the price of its critically acclaimed D&D blockbuster to its lowest price ever on Steam, while also dropping the price of the game significantly on other platforms. Baldur’s Gate 3 has an MSRP of $60, which, considering the industry standard is $70, creeping up to $80, is already a steal. However, if you don’t already own a copy on Steam, you can currently pick one up for just $41.99. That’s a 30% price cut, which, considering sometimes big games can have their prices slashed by up to 90% on Steam, might not seem like much. The thing is, this is a game that could quite comfortably take the Nintendo approach and never cut the price of its games, and it would continue to sell just fine. 32,000 people are playing it right now, at 5 am, three years after it released. What’s more, according to SteamDB, despite various Steam sales and smaller discounts, this is the lowest price Baldur’s Gate 3 has ever fallen to on Steam. That likely means it’s the lowest price it has ever been available anywhere, as even though you can buy the game on other platforms, price cuts for triple-A titles on PlayStation and Xbox don’t typically tend to be quite as steep as the ones you get on Steam. Baldur's Gate 3 Has Had Its Price Cut On PS5 Too Case in point, Baldur’s Gate 3 is also available for less on PS5 right now to celebrate the Game of the Year’s third birthday. It just isn’t on sale for quite as little as it is on PC. It is still a 30 percent price cut due to the fact that the console version’s MSRP is the industry standard $70 instead of $60. Buy it right now, and you’ll get it for $48.99, which is still a steal considering the sheer amount of high quality game you’re getting for that price. Not to mention a single-player game with more replayability than just about anything else on the market. Despite the massive success of Baldur’s Gate 3, there’s no telling when we might get a new game in the series. Larian has confirmed that if there is a Baldur’s Gate 4, it won’t be the one developing it. The studio has, instead, returned to its own IP for Divinity, a game that will follow on from the Original Sin titles it released before Baldur’s Gate 3. Hasbro is eager to get a new Baldur’s Gate game out there, though, as revealed by developers who worked on Baldur’s Gate 2 more than 20 years ago. The devs confirmed that Hasbro approached them about returning to the series to help with a fourth game, but they politely declined the opportunity.
