Baldur’s Gate 3 has an MSRP of $60, which, considering the industry standard is $70, creeping up to $80, is already a steal. However, if you don’t already own a copy on Steam, you can currently pick one up for just $41.99. That’s a 30% price cut, which, considering sometimes big games can have their prices slashed by up to 90% on Steam, might not seem like much. The thing is, this is a game that could quite comfortably take the Nintendo approach and never cut the price of its games, and it would continue to sell just fine. 32,000 people are playing it right now, at 5 am, three years after it released. What’s more, according to SteamDB, despite various Steam sales and smaller discounts, this is the lowest price Baldur’s Gate 3 has ever fallen to on Steam. That likely means it’s the lowest price it has ever been available anywhere, as even though you can buy the game on other platforms, price cuts for triple-A titles on PlayStation and Xbox don’t typically tend to be quite as steep as the ones you get on Steam. Hasbro is eager to get a new Baldur’s Gate game out there, though, as revealed by developers who worked on Baldur’s Gate 2 more than 20 years ago.
