August in Alabama is hot and getting hotter: Some places might hit 100 degrees

Most of Alabama will have temperatures in the 90s today, and some spots in south Alabama will hit the mid-90s.National Weather ServiceA normal August in Alabama is hot, but this weekend could even be a touch hotter, according to forecasters.The National Weather Service is expecting heat levels to rise a notch starting later this week, bringing above-average (even for August) temperatures to most of the state for an extended period.Much of Alabama will be facing high temperatures in the mid- to upper 90s through the end of the forecast period.And a few spots could hit 100 degrees.Today (Tuesday) will be hot, but only average-Alabama-August hot.The weather service is forecasting highs to reach the low 90s across much of the state today.
