Argentina slapped with huge fine for Falklands banner and racist abuse and discrimination after England World Cup clash

ARGENTINA have been slapped with a £237,000 fine by FIFA for their disgusting banner claiming the Falklands after their World Cup win over England. But the post-match celebrations have now landed the South American giants in trouble with football‘s governing body. FIFA has sanctioned the Argentine Football Association, as well as a number of players and members of staff, over incidents following both the semi-final and final at MetLife Stadium in New York. The AFA have been hit with a total £237,000 fine, equivalent to around $321,000, for multiple breaches of FIFA’s disciplinary regulations. They will have to pay around $121K immediately while a further $100 ordered to be spent on anti-discrimination campaign. Another $100k of the FIFA fine suspended.
