Apple Wallet driver’s licenses coming to two more states soon: report

Apple Wallet offers digital IDs and driver’s licenses in a variety of US states, and according to findings by MacRumors’ Aaron Perris, there are two new states that could add support soon. Utah and Virginia could be next states to launch Apple Wallet support for driver’s licenses Apple Wallet added support for digital IDs years ago, but US states have been fairly slow to support the feature. That’s changed some in the last year as rollouts have increased. And now, per the findings of Aaron Perris, it sounds like another couple of states will get on board soon. That means Apple has already done some of the work needed to launch digital IDs and driver’s licenses in those states. We don’t know exactly when those new digital IDs will go live, as it depends not just on Apple’s timeline but also that of the states. The presence of each state in Apple’s backend, though, is a great sign that residents in Utah and Virginia should soon be able to get an Apple Wallet-based driver’s license.
