While iPhone users might not know it by name, they’re certainly familiar with the Action button: the button is located on the left side of the iPhone and can do things like turn certain settings — such as Silent Mode and Focus — on and off. AppleInsider reports that the upcoming iPhone 20 will merge the Action button with the iPhone’s Camera Control instead. Users will purportedly single press the button to open the camera, then hold done their press a bit longer in order to use the Action button’s function. Should this rumor be true, AppleInsider notes that the Action button will be the first iPhone control to go the way of the dodo since it the mute switch (which the Action button replaced). It’s assumed that Apple is making this rumored move due to how little the Action button is used.Apple has yet to address this rumor as of the publishing of this report.
